Gallery talk:Prototypes
I think we should mark this page as 'Needing Work' or 'Incomplete'. Obviously, we will be finding more for years to come. I haven't verified them yet, but after only ~20 seconds of Google searching, I found alleged prototype images that are no included here. A set of images of alleged prototype Nui Rama sets can be found here: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/31331-showing-off-an-unseen-prototype-of-set-8537-nui-rama/ I also downloaded an image of a prototype VooDoo Heads head piece, but couldn't find the original source, and I don't know how to upload it. These pictures need to be searched for, and any of us can do it. Sorry for the rant. Firespitter Lhii (talk) 03:44, 8 October 2021 (UTC) Edit- my bad, the VooDoo head thing was already here, but the other one isn't. Firespitter Lhii (talk) 03:47, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
Can some remove the Sentrahk image? There is no indication that these are prototype parts, and every piece visible is identical to the final model(I checked). I don't know how to do this however, and this page seems to be neglected and in need of work. Firespitter Lhii (talk) 18:42, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- It was shown with the other prototypes in a video. Even it is identical to the final model, it would still counts as the prototype which was chosen to be the Sentrakh model imo, as the model had to be built first before getting chosen to be the combiner for the instuctions, but that's only my two cents on this.--Surel (Talk) 19:19, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
Gen 2
I propose we divide this page by generations like so:
=Gen 1= =Gen 2=
We have some images for the Gen 2 section, such as this one:

- I wouldn't really call the shadow spawn a prototype. It's a model made out of all standard issue pieces. -- Dorek Talk 05:11, 1 September 2016 (CET)
Has anyone seen the 2003 Rahkshi & Makuta prototypes that appeared on eBay?
2023 Gift With Purchase
Apparently the LEGO group shared several concepts and prototypes of 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua with BrickNerd, some of which were shared by BrickNerd and others by Brick Fanatics who credited BrickNerd with sharing the images. Would it be appropriate to add them to this gallery? MDean (talk) 23:04, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think some of them yeah, maybe not the "Classic Takanuva" which seems to have been more of a joke build, but anything that's distinct from the final product, sure. -- Dorek Talk 23:16, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
Voya Nui Matoran prototype(s)
On a brickshelf gallery I found, it included 2006 prototypes. Most of the images are already on the site and on this content page, but not the Matoran. For 5 of the Matoran,it seems to be photos identical to the promotional images we got, with the only thing of note being that the renders are on a slightly different background of what I'm guessing was a catalogue or an internal, early document distributed to retailers or product overseers, and it isn't that interesting. Balta, however, is shown with an early box design, which incorrectly has "GAAKI" written on it, and uses a word art logo for the Matoran which I don't know whether or not actually got used in any finalized materials or products(though it probably was, at the very least in some obscure publicly released material). I don't know how to upload(I know there is a help page, but I don't want to accidentally mess anything up), so could someone at least upload the Balta image? I would also argue that the others should be, as some of the Piraka images also are indiscernible from the final product, but are included on here and were not necessarily considered finalized and approved, as I would imagine is the case for this, plus it technically has a tiny amount of extra visual information in the form of the background, regardless of if it is the same product image. The MOL board game in this pic is a prototype, I assume? Does a prototype board game box deserve inclusion in this gallery? https://biosector01.com/w/images/bs01/b/ba/2003toyfair.jpg -Turaga of Force (talk) 19:34, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
Tarix blade concept photo
This is an image of Tarix shared by the supposed set designer a while back. It shows what Tarix's blades were designed to look like. I can't figure out whether or not this was actually a prototype image or an image recreated after the fact with the existing set, as the metadata, at least from some free online sites, seems to be garbled, saying it is from 1998. Should we include this image on here? If anyone has any way of figuring out what exactly this image is, or has someway of contacting him, then we can solve this, but short of that, what should we do with this? - Torsti left LEGO in February 2008. The set was still in development in April. In other words, he did not finalize the set, and he also said he could not share internal resources. I believe this is the retail set used to demonstrate how the blades were used on the prototype (which can be seen in a previs video, I'll get the link later). ~ Wolk (talk) 05:12, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Here are the Previs videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6eQwqkOSkaQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wws6g_Ztu-U In general there's a lot of 2009 prototypes and concept art to add, though! (not so much any set concept art though :c I guess Faber wouldn't have part design sketches) https://www.maskofdestiny.com/news/faber-2009 ~ Wolk (talk) 06:25, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
