Talk:Ga-Koro Guard

From BIONICLEsector01

Are Amaya and Shasa not members of this, in addition to their occupation, per MNOG? ~ Wolk (talk) 01:25, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Yes... I guess? Maybe they were guards only when things attacked the village, and when there were peace they just did their MNOG2 jobs, unlike Jaller's Ta-Koro Guard.--Surel (Talk) 04:50, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Right. Honestly, it's existence seems... questionable? The quote here refers to the main characters, as if they make up the guard. The picture shows a single instance of two unnamed Matoran of whom we know nothing... The Ga-Metru Guard says citation needed... Is there ever a reference to the Ga-Koro Guard being a formal thing, or was it just Ga-Koronans doing what they can in the situation?... ~ Wolk (talk) 07:01, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
“Kotu, I think, needs to stay here with me and maintain the village's defense." - (Nokama, MNOG, Program 8) suggests that Kotu heads them. I really think there's no indication of this being a formal organization; should I put this up for AfD? ~ Wolk (talk) 09:59, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
I'd say we could give it the nickname template and rephrase the page to indicate that the guard were only active on special occasions, otherwise the Matoran did their other duties, maybe?--Surel (Talk) 13:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
Can the same be of the Po-Koro/Sanctum Guards? Would a nickname template be necessary for them to or were they named? --Gonel (talk) 14:04, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
My guess is that the Po-Koro Guard is the same as this one, but the Sanctum Guards calls themselves "temple guards" in MNOG2, idk if they were ever calld Sanctum Guards anywhere, maybe somewhere in the BEU perhaps? But I'm not sure if the guide mentions them at all.--Surel (Talk) 14:15, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
I wouldn't consider "temple guards" to be official if it isn't a proper noun tbh. Good find on MGttU though - I don't suppose it has Ga-Koro Guard as well? --Gonel (talk) 19:37, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
All the Ko-Matoran guards says "I am a temple guard." in MNOG2. And no, Ga-Koro Guard isn't mentioned nor referenced at all, four of the other five are mentioned by name while the Gukko Force is referenced as "defended by Matoran riding Gukko birds."--Surel (Talk) 19:56, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
See, the way I read it is like someone telling you "I am a duck expert." This doesn't necessarily mean there's an elite society of duck experts (as there might be if he'd said "I am a Duckian Expert.") It just means he's an expert with respect to ducks. In the context of the game alone, I think these guys are just saying they're guards with respect to the temple, and Greg later gave their organization a name "The Sanctum Guard." --Gonel (talk) 21:12, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
What you suggested may possibly work. ~ Wolk (talk) 17:11, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
So the whole existence of this page seems to come from this quote: https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2003-2008/page306#post12235

In regard to Surel recent edit, is there any indication it's only an occasional guard? I thought this was unspecified? --maxim21 19:12, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
The members having other occupations in MNOG II? This is unprecedented in the other villages. The only other close thing I can think of is Tuuli and Makani jumping onto Kewa in MNOG. ~ Wolk (talk) 23:52, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
