Talk:Disk of Time

From BIONICLEsector01

Kanoka-related abilities

I think I should expand on that thought, and the summary may not be enough. I think if the Disk of Time had any of the kanoka related powers:

  • it should either had all six, since it was merged from six different metru's kanoka.
  • or none, as the Great Disks were made by Artakha, not the Matoran of Metru Nui, so the Great Disk may have not even had any of the metru specific abilities.

We can't just say that since Vakama merged all six on the fly, it would automatically have the same atrributes as a disk made *in* Ta-Metru.--SurelNuva (Talk) 08:44, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

That occurred to me. I left that part because I assumed someone smarter than me figured it out once before. Honestly there's a lot of weird things about the Disk of Time. Did it actually have a picture of the Vahi on it? Should we mention the fact it was never actually used as a disk (thus, its power is arguably hypothetical)? I guess we could phrase it like It could have sped up or slowed down time, just how we phrase Akamai Nuva's bios?--SurelNuva (Talk) 14:07, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
The digit has nothing to do with what disks it was forged by, it never does for any Kanoka: https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2003-2008/page174#post6931-line52,63 Greg has said it's determined by the location, and not the methods: https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2003-2008/page276#post11031-line6,18 While the Disk of Time wasn't made in Ta-Metru, Greg attributed this to Vakama being a Ta-Matoran: https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2003-2008/page59#post2326-line3,8
Hoowever the Disk of Time was also not made through the conventional method of smelting the disks together:
Nokama approached in time to see him move the disks together until they touched. Then something strange happened — the disks softened and began to merge together. Vakama quickly pulled them apart again, puzzled and intrigued. - BA4
As for the flight characteristics, Greg had not given it any thought: https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2003-2008/page205#post8171-line5,15

Yeah, that's why I said that the Disk of Time was not forged in the same way as normal Kanoka were. The disks were fused together in the book and in the movie too. And given how the Great Disks weren't even made by Metru Nui Matoran, they may not even had flight characteristics at all.--SurelNuva (Talk) 15:12, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
