Canon?

I don't see how this movie can be canon... after all, it portrays the Mahri as air breathers. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 21:24, 12 April 2017 (CET)

Maybe semi-canon? Because, except the air-breather Toa Mahri, nothing of it clash with the canon. — SurelNuva (Talk) 21:30, 12 April 2017 (CET)
how does it portray them as airbreathers? anyway, how'd we get such a clear reading to make a transcript? i can barely make out what they're saying at the beginning. Intelligence4 (talk) 17:27, 17 April 2017 (CET)
@Intelligence4, I played the video over and over and at various speeds to get what they said. The "Oxygen flow on" part was a pain. --- Creep 03:30, 18 April 2017 (CET)
They're shown at the beginning having the breathing tubes attached along with their masks, but I think the "tubes" are actually gills and part of their bodies. Master Inika (Talk) 00:15, 18 April 2017 (CET)
I'm not normally one to say this, but this movie is definitely not canon. Awesome, yes, but not canon. There are too many discrepancies and breaking points - Matoro never rode on a Takea/ray fusion, for one. If we're labeling other non-canon sources, we should definitely include this one. --Angel Bob (talk) 07:13, 18 April 2017 (CET)

"Kongu looked down at himself. His armor was different, his weapons were gone, and he could feel a pair of tubes running from his back to the front of his mask."
— Narrator, Prisoners of the Pit

Greg always said that the Toa Mahri can't breath underwater without the tubes, because the tubes came from their backs, they're the part of their body, and attached to their masks. And the fish + other water breather animals-creatures uses their gills to filter out the oxygen from the water, generally if I'm right. SO it doesn't contradict. — SurelNuva (Talk) 07:38, 18 April 2017 (CET)
...yes, except that when the Ignika transformed the Toa Mahri, it gave them the tube-gills and everything. They were not attached in the Toa Terrain Crawler; they are literally parts of their body. So this is only further evidence that the movie is non-canon. Similarly, Matoro never rode a scouting vehicle, he never fought Gadunka, Gadunka never knocked Hewkii and Nuparu off a cliff, and Matoro never traded his vehicle for a Takea/ray fusion. The movie follows the general shape of Downfall, but there are too many creative liberties taken for this to count as anything like canon. --Angel Bob (talk) 07:47, 18 April 2017 (CET)
The Toa terrain crawler doesn't give them the gills, it just repaired their masks and armors. Gadunka did knock Hewkii several times. And if the comics could give us more info about the event, this movie also could. — SurelNuva (Talk) 07:56, 18 April 2017 (CET)
I have to admit, you have a point. So much so that I downloaded the OGDi and checked, and sure enough: Someone asked, "Is the new CGI movie canon?" (referring to a 2008 animation), and Greg responded, "All CGI movies on BIONICLE.com are canon".[1] I can't argue with that! Carry on, then. --Angel Bob (talk) 08:03, 18 April 2017 (CET)
I have absolutely no clue how people like you can find stuff from a 800 page thread from 9 years ago. --- Creep 04:27, 19 April 2017 (CET)
Here's the secret. I just Ctrl+F searched for "mahri movie canon" and then "movie canon", and chanced upon the above Q&A. --Angel Bob (talk) 07:08, 19 April 2017 (CET)

Canon, sure, but i think only because they had to condense a large part of the story line into a minute or two long video - so naturally, some stuff was left out or added. nice sluething guys :) On the "tubes", yes, they are gills, and are part of their body. We only see the terrain crawler attaching them to the mask, which doesn't really mean anything. most of the tubes are attached to their chest/back, and their mask isn't part of their body, so if you take their mask off, where do the tubes go? i think what we were seeing there is just the crawler putting the gills back into the mask; they were attached to their back/torso the whole time. Another question: how do we know that was axxon's voice? Intelligence4 (talk) 20:05, 26 April 2017 (CET)

The teaser being released in theaters

Hi, guys. I looked over the July 2007 section of BZPower's news feed, where the teaser was used as a preview before a movie starts in a movie theater. For example, when you had been going to watch Transformers, you would have seen the teaser before the film will begin.
