Talk:Muaka
Tori
So, the reason I don't want to make the connection with the Muaka read as so clean-cut is well... complicated. I don't see it as clean-cut, because I also don't see the Kahu as clean-cut. There's still a lot of information gaps as to how the Rahi were developed.
- The Rahi are split into two groups by set-number - Rama, Muaka, Manas, and then separate from those, Jaga and Tarakava.
- The Rama instruction manuals are named "8537 1/2 BIRD" and "8537 2/2 BIRD". (Meanwhile, for the Muaka & Kane-ra, it's 8538 1/2 TIGER and 8538 2/2 TYR)
This in combination would line up with there only being 2 Rahi and the Manas - The Rama being the "Kahu", and the Muaka being the "Tori".
Except the Rama are clearly not designed as birds, right? And the story bible presents them as if there's just the two, the Rahi Kahu and the Rahi Tori. Thus, I don't really think the story bible's Rahi were based on the sets, and that the story in this case was adapted to the whims of what the set designers came up with. ~ Wolk (talk) 23:18, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- That's fair, I understand why you're hesitant to assert anything that isn't explicitly confirmed. And I didn't know that the instruction manuals have names, so that's interesting! I suppose if you squint your eyes hard enough, the orange Nui-Rama is vaguely avian (a beak, two wings, and two legs with talons)... But perhaps it is worth noting that Muaka's set changed very little from the 1999 "Boneheads of Voodoo Island" phase of development, which already gave it its vaguely feline head and ears, so a "giant tiger" prototype set would've already existed by the time of this August 2000 story bible. --PeabodySam (talk) 23:55, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- We actually know that a giant tiger model existed during the Woodoo Heads period, and Faber in the video said that it didn't have a finalized name or something, and we also saw a bigger, bulkier Muaka already, which dates back to June 30th 2000, according to Faber's video. So imo it's entirely possible that Tori has become the Muaka.--SurelNuva (Talk) 07:20, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Did Nektann really bring his Muaka?
Hi, guys. I read that part about Nektann bringing his Muaka to battle in Bara Magna. Where does ti say that? Either way, Muaka is likely on the loose.Lenny7092 (talk)
