Part Count

What's with the part count saying 102 on the information box, but having 111 in the set's text? 𝙗𝙮 𝙒𝙖𝙙𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙯 15:13, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

Ha! Bricklink says 111, Brickset says 112. Shop @ Home says 102. I love this... I'll investigate further when I get to this set, and examine the contents. ~ Wolk (talk) 15:20, 30 July 2022 (UTC)

Alright so, comparing Brickset's and Bricklink's inventories, the Bricklink one includes 1 extra of the smaller pieces. I presume the count of 112 on Brickset also includes the additional hose piece that Bricklink does list as an extra. Removing those, that cut it down to 103. I also assume one of the small gear pieces (one of the parts missing in the Brickset inventory, as only 95 parts are available) is an extra, which leaves it at 102. Having looked through the instructions, none of the models look to uses these additional parts.

For the sake clarity, these are the extra parts:

4274 1M Pin w/ stud (Light Grey)

6562 2M Axle-Pin w/o Fric. (Light Grey)

30057 1x1 Round Plate (Tr. Red)

32062 2M Axle (Black)

32123 1/2M Bush (Light Grey)

2780 2M Pin w/ Fric. (Black)

6590 1M Bush (Light Grey)

41196 3M Hose (Red)

3673 2M Pin w/o Fric. (Light Grey)

3647 8-tooth Gear (Dark Grey)

Without those, the part count is indeed 102. (Also not including the rubber band holder; as far as I've been able to find, that part is never a part of the inventory. Still not sure where Brickset gets their piece total from, but it certainly does not seem to be a reliable number for older sets. ~ Wolk (talk) 14:24, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
