Set Information

The set's box

The set consists of 217 pieces.

The set contains a Battle Machine called the Evo Spider Machine, also called the "6-Legged Walker", and four mini-figures: Hero William Furno, Hero Nathan Evo, Hero Preston Stormer, and an orange and blue Jumper. The Heroes have a click shooter and a double shooter, which is the gun piece from the winter wave sets with a binoculars piece attached to the front of it. The set also contains two cocoons, one green and one blue.

By combining pieces from the Queen Beast with pieces from 44024 Tunneler Beast vs. Surge and 44026 Crystal Beast vs. Bulk, one can build a non-canon combination model.

Features

The Queen Beast has opening and snapping jaws. She also has a printed chest piece. Four of the beast's fingers can move forwards and backwards. It has the Grab Staff, which has two claws that can move forwards and backwards, allowing the staff to grab one of the Heroes. The beast's wings can articulate to represent her flying. She can contain one of the cocoons on her rear end.

The Evo Spider Machine features a detachable lime green cockpit with an opening transparent gray visor. On each side of the cockpit is an arm-like device that can move forwards and backwards. Below the cockpit is a version of a Plasma Gun, which is a Goo Shooter, a variation of the Plasma Gun, in the story, and serves as the Spider Machine's "mandibles". The machine's front right leg has a printed armor piece. The Spider Machine's middle left leg has a black clipping piece that can contain one of the guns that the Heroes are holding with their hands. The machine's middle right leg can also contain one of the guns. On the back of the Spider Machine is a detachable, opening transparent green canister. The canister can be used to replace 44028 Surge & Rocka Combat Machine's mini-jet half, allowing the other half of the Surge & Rocka Combat Machine from that set to carry the canister, despite this not being advertised.

Trivia

  • The Queen Beast is seen carrying the blue cocoon.
  • According to the box's front art, Furno is carrying the double shooter, but in the set's instruction manual, Stormer is the one doing it.
  • This is the only 2014 set to have three Hero mini-figures.
  • This is the only summer wave set to have a canister.
  • According to the set's LEGOshop.com page, Evo has a buzzsaw and Stormer has a spear. However, in actuality, the buzzsaw and spear are not present in the Queen Beast set, so this is an error.
  • According to the set's LEGOshop.com page and Brickset one, the set has 218 pages rather than 217. The set does have an extra piece, which is an extra stud for the click shooter, serving as the click shooter's extra ammunition.
