Set Inventory
So, I'm not sure if this should be somehow integrated into the article, but the inventory for this set is kind of uncertain:
- The official piece count for this set is 43, as can be seen on the American canister, on LEGO Shop, in the Bricks & Pieces data, and in at least one catalog.
- The inventory from Bricks & Pieces (which you can view on Brickset for ease) shows 37 parts. Notably, the inventory is missing the head, eyes, mask, torso, one of the arms, and the shield. This brings the total to 43. Of note, this inventory includes 3 3L axles, 3 axle half-bushings, 4 of the smaller gears, and 1 perpendicular axle connector (32039).
- The inventory from Bricklink only contains 41 parts. This includes 4 3L axles, 3 of the gears, 2 of the bushings, and no axle connector. At the time the set was inventorised, I do not believe Bricklink recorded "spares".
- The inventory from Rebrickable duplicates Bricklink.
- The inventory from Peeron includes a total of 45 pieces, with 3 axles, 4 of the bushings, 4 gears, an axle connector. (It also includes an additional full axle bushing, though this one I would say is clearly a spare).
- The way the set is initially constructed in the instructions requires 2 of the 3L axles and 2 gears. The second and third configurations require 3 axles and 3 gears. At no point in the instructions is a third half-axle busing required, nor the axle connector, a fourth gear, or a fourth axle.
- Wairuha Nuva only uses 2 of the bushings. 9 gears are used, and Gali and Lewa each provide 3, thus a fourth gear is not needed in Kopaka. 8 axles are used, and again, Gali and Lewa provide 3 so a fourth axle is not needed. The axle connector is not used.
NOTE: Onua Nuva only includes 2 axle half-bushings in his inventory, but Gali Nuva also includes 3.
I don't know how why this axle connector is not shown in the instructions at all but I think it's safe to say it was included in the set, same with the third half-bushing. What I am uncertain about would be whether there is a fourth axle or a fourth gear. The axle makes technically more sense in that it could then be used alongside the axle connector while the gear function is locked. The gear on the other hand I can't see serving any purpose, but is more supported (being listed both on Peeron and Bricks & Pieces). Sadly, I have not been able to find any good look at the contents of the sealed set unlike some of the other Toa Nuva, and the price to buy the set sealed is... steep :c ~ Wolk (talk) 01:33, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
