Where did the Hagah-Hoto Bug Invasion stuff come from? — SurelNuva (Talk) 07:20, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

I've tried finding the source but to no avail. All I've found is that it's been on BS01 as early as October 2007, which eliminates the possibility of it being from the Story Squad or even the Dataclysm. What strikes me is the wording on both the Iruini and Hoto pages.
"Iruini quit the team, believing they wasted time on large threats (e.g. protecting the Makuta) and not enough time on ever-present dangers (e.g. Hoto bug invasion)." [Iruini (Jan 20 2008)]
"Iruini quit the team, believing they wasted time on large threats (e.g. Hoto bug invasion) and not enough time on ever-present dangers." [Iruini (Feb 20 2008)]
"One of the reasons for Toa Iruini wanting to leave his fellow Toa Hagah was because he thought his talents were wasted by dealing with threats such as a Hoto bug invasion." [Hoto (Dec 21 2007)]
To me, it reads as a hypothetical example of what a smaller threat might look like (or larger threat, depending on which page you're looking at), and this may have been misinterpreted as being something the Hagah actually did at one time. But on the other hand, mentioning Hoto bugs specifically is oddly specific. A very strange situation indeed. (EDIT: There's a wide gap in archived screenshots of Iruini's page between 2009 and 2011, but by Aug 20 2011, the reference to a Hoto invasion was removed, though it seems to have stayed on the Hoto page.) I've tried to see the recent changes, but these were not archived unfortunately. I have a strong feeling that it was meant to be hypothetical though, since Hoto bugs are generally said to be annoying to deal with.--SurelNuva (Talk) 18:53, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
