The Mata, Reborn!

Image uploaded by External Image

Back from a long hiatus, TNU finally returns to the CFS, with this amazing image. We can see Tahu in the back, who either had a nasty run in with a Kraata or got Onua mad and was thusly caked in layers of dirt. So, aside from that slightly evil dude (Don't worry, we've already scheduled angry management classes for him with Tuma), we see our favorite good 'ol Toa in their second form. Now, let's go ahead and leave these guys, since they just had a bath in EP, and you know how cranky Tahu gets when you see him after his baths; yeah, the anger management classes didn't quite start yet.

The Skrall Army

Image uploaded by External Image

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... *cue Star Wars music*

Darkness looms over the free city of Atero, as the Skrall armies of Roxtus march towards Arena Magna. Sent on a mission of doom by the evil dark lord of the Skrall, Darth Tuma, they prepare to attack with a final goal of seizing the entire planet! Like a sandstorm, they traverse the desert of Bara Magna, the emblems on their shields gleaming with the suns' reflections.

However, the Agori villagers of Bara Magna have spotted the vicious black-armoured soldiers, causing Raanu to alert Glatorian Master Tarix. The Skrall Wars have begun...

Zaktan

Image uploaded by External Image, yet again

Adding to the list of images on the Image of the Week History, comes the scary picture of the-now-deceased-and-before-being-mutated Zaktan smiling while pointing his Three-Blade Scissor at the camera , he was an extraordinary model and he was featured on the cover of Ga-Metru's Most Handsome Guys in the Universe magazine exclusive for girls. You can see an intruder, AKA Hakann, there in the background. Poor Hakann - he also wanted to star on Most Handsome Guys magazine. Oh well, maybe next time Hakann. So congratulate Zaktan on his tomb as Ga-Matoran cry for his death.

Hafu and Hafu Carving

Image uploaded by External Image, as usual :P

Adding to the list of images on the Image of the Week History, comes the incredible statue of Hafu, "Another Hafu original!" as quoted by the creator of this work of art, it's so famous, that even the Bohrok took a picture of themselves along the statue... And later they destroyed it, but Hafu has lots of them on Hafu's Po-Metru Souvenir Store at the far end of the Metru, only at 10 Widgets each, get a nice one for your family at a great price! (We aren't responsible if your Hafu Carving isn't made by Hafu nor if it breaks in shards; may contain dangerous poisonous Fikou spiders)

The fight is on! Skrall jumps into the air and attacks Gresh with his... feet? Tahu & Tahnok

Image uploaded by External Image

And sliding in this week is a powerless Tahu accompanied by his lovable Tahnok swarm, "CHARGE!" These hot heads will try to melt Nuhvok-Kal with their tempers, but fail, ultimately being sent into orbit by Nuhvok-Kal (Except for Tahu, whew) . Now Tahu's mad. Watch out Bohrok-Kal! Tahu has a Vahi! *cue Doctor Who sound effects*

January 18

Gresh

Image uploaded by Electric Turahk and Creep of the Deep

Super-green Gresh bursts into the scene as this weeks IotW and slides into standing position! A white text-bubble appears! He is shocked! But he aims regardless! And then he gets turned into a picture just like Miserix did in Dwellers In Darkness! (Ask your parents before attempting to wield Thornax)

January 4

Tahu

Image originally uploaded by External Image, updated by Shine

The pitcher rears up to Tahu and throws the Nui-Rama... Tahu hits it into the outfield, where it's caught by the Nui-Jaga! He's outttt! So, this time around, we bring you a fantastic nostalgic image of 2001, in a classic battle, Tahu defending against a Muaka. Let's just hope that Tahu bats better next time.

December 15

Matoran Nokama

Image uploaded by Bioran23

ALIENS HAVE INVADED WIKI--! Nevermind, false alarm. Only weird looking Matoran have invaded. So, here we have Nokama, teaching a class, when, all of a sudden, Lhikan bursts in, and hands her a Toa Stone. Creepy, huh? It'd be like... you learning stuff in school, and then, suddenly, CHUCK NORRIS BURSTS IN! :O. Shocker, right? Well, we leave you this week with one of those corny, yet famous, Chuck Norris sayings: "Before he forgot to give Chuck Norris a present, Santa Claus was real." Happy Holidays everyone!

December 7

Brutaka vs. Axonn

Image uploaded by External Image Who else :P?

...

...

...

"Hah, you blinked first!"

Epic face off: former friend vs. former friend. Axonn and Brutaka, members of the Order of Mata Nui, had a few troubles with their friendship back in the day... namely 2006. However, after a few... um... violent... conflicts, they settled things, and are now the best of friends again :D. (For the most part)

November 24

Kraahkan

Image uploaded by External Image

  • Checks to see which spoilers are allowed*

Well... Teridax succeeded. What we see here is a reformation of the stars, done by Teridax himself, into the Kraahkan. Aside from, you know, the whole magnitude of this problem, it's a pretty cool scene. We see a fairly detailed Kraahkan, and, of course, we're missing the best part of this picture. It... is.... SHINY!

November

Mata Nui

Image uploaded by unknown

So, this is Mata Nui. He just woke up, so he's kinda sleepy right now, don't bug him. This amazing picture was taken from the new animation on BIONICLE.com, so if you want to see Mata Nui wake up (I don't know why you would, I mean sleeping's kinda a private thing), you can go over there. :D

October 15

Toa Ignika's Sacrifice

Image uploaded by External Image

Well, this is going to bit a bit difficult; after all, how do you describe this scene without giving away The Final Battle spoilers?

Well... that Toa is the Ignika... he's flying through the Codrex... and... um... he's shiny :D.

Seriously, we should honor this Toa as any other, as, it must be quite painful to have your whole body dissapate around your face; if you doubt this, I reccomend that you try it. Note that TNU is not liable to any damages, and, therefore, cannot be sued if you die due to trying this.

October 6

Sacrifice of Matoro

Image uploaded by External Image as always :P

The IotW returns, this week showcasing someone who has been called one of the most heroic and noble Toa of all time, Matoro. Coming from the final comic of 2007, Toa Matoro dons the Ignika in a desperate attempt to make all things right, and bring the Great Spirit back to life. After teleporting his friends to Metru Nui, he embraces his destiny, remembering his life. As ghosts of Matoro's life on Mata Nui return, we find his Toa Inika form oddly missing. In a surge of energy, as his form mists away, the Great Spirit is brought back, heralded by his savior, the heroic Toa Matoro.

Due to a slight mistake, two descriptions were put up; one by PoI, and one by TNU

A memorable image, this depicts, arguably, the biggest turning point for our present storyline. Donning the Mask of Life, the heroic sacrifice of Matoro saves his fellow teammates, and Mata Nui from certain doom. With the ghosts of his former Matoran self, Matoro realizes the meaning of the universe, and saves it. He will always be remembered as the true paragon of a hero.

September 7

Kopaka

Image uploaded by Shine

An oldie, but a goodie, this comic picture comes from the promotional comic Into the Nest. We see Kopaka Mata, fending off some Tahnok Va using his Elemental Power of Ice. Channeling it through his Ice Sword, he makes one cool cage to trap the pesky robotic assistants of the Bohrok.

Battle of 2005 Titans

Image uploaded by External Image

Triggy is on a roll! This fine image, from the advertising section in Comic 27 shows the three titans of 2005. The fierce lightning in the background give an ominous mood, as the battle for Metru Nui begins. The noble Keetongu and the backstabbing Roodaka square off, weapons held high. Meanwhile Sidorak stand cowardly back, in the distance, gazing at his claw. Either he's quoting Shakespeare or giving an order to Roodaka. You decide.

August 23

Forging of Hau

Image uploaded by External Image

Yup, here we have yet another image uploaded by Triggy :P. This time around, we have a splendid image of a red Kanohi Hau being forged, possibly Tahu's. After its creation on Artakha, we can only assumed that it was put on Tahu before he was awakened. Let us bask in the heat of this furnace, without getting cruelly burnt to a charred crisp.

Tahu Discovers Exo-Toa

Image uploaded by External Image

Another image, uploaded by our very own Image Master, Triggy, this week's image shows a key point in 2002. Tahu, having collected all the Krana with his fellow teammates, and traveling down one of the six opened passageways, finds a source of unimaginable power: The Exo-Toa.

August 9

Unknown/Random Rahi

Image uploaded by External Image

This weeks image is quite the unknown image, recently uploaded, by Triggy. It's a concept art from BIONICLE: The Game. It seems to depict a stone carving of a Rahi, that works as a fountain...or some Rahi sneezing their guts out. It's never been seen anywhere else, I think, so cherish the moment with this sick Rahi.

August 2

Comic 1: The Coming of the Toa

Image uploaded by External Image

Interestingly enough, this is a pretty unknown image for most Bionicle Fans. It's the variant cover for Comic 1: The Coming of the Toa, released at the 2003 San Diego Comic-Con. There's all the Toa Mata, stylized beyond Carlos D'Anda's original style and even Stuart Sayger's. Tahu, Lewa, and Kopaka stand out with their bright colors, while the other three Toa are hard to see, hidden behind the shadows.

July 26

Toa Mata

Image uploaded by Shine

The Toa Mata stand proudly as a team in this week's image. Tahu holds up his Fire Sword as the other Toa gather around him. And for some reason, their bodies sparkle. They must have been waxed recently. o_O . This image comes from Comic 3: Triumph of the Toa and was drawn by the one and only Carlos D'Anda.

July 19

Nuparu Clones and Boxors

Image uploaded by External Image

This week's image shows our favorite, slightly insane, inventor, Nuparu, with his crowning achievement, the Boxor! Deep in Le-Wahi, a squad of Onu-Matoran, who oddly look the exact same as Nuparu (O_O), take on a swarm of Nuhvok. Aided by the only free Le-Matoran left, Tamaru and Kongu, the Onu-Matoran fight on.

Piraka Stronghold

Image uploaded by Shine

This time around, we bring you some hand-drawn art from a past issue of LEGO Magazine. Here, we see the Toa Inika trying to take over the Piraka Stronghold. Here, we either see a Vezok-shaped gateway, or Vezok really needs to see a dentist.

June 28

Krika

Image uploaded by Shine

ZOMG! Would you look at that detail? Those Aussies in Australia have gotten pretty lucky; they have the new comic one month before the Americans in the U.S.! Krika looks pretty nasty, doesn't he? We have Leigh Gallagher to thank for this renewal of extra detail, so let us take some time thanking him by drooling at this Uber-cool image.

June 21

Great Cataclysm

Image uploaded by Shine

It's the end of the world as we know it! Not really, but the Great Cataclysm is pretty darn close to it. Feast your eyes on this week's featured image of Teridax absorbing energy during the event that occured when Mata Nui went into a coma, causing great destruction to the Matoran Universe.

June 14

Ga-Metru Plaza

Image uploaded by Wrinkledlion X

The Ga-Metru plaza finds its way to this weeks spotlight. Unfortunately, the Visorak, cute nasty creatures, have found it first. Covered in Visorak webbing, the plaza won't be cleaned until a thousand years after Teridax and Vakama fight over the Mask of Time. And you thought you haven't cleaned your room in a while!
