This template produces nicely formatted titles for the names of BIONICLE media by rendering titles in italics or quotation marks as convention dictates.

Currently, this template only supports comic issues. If users find it helpful, it can eventually be expanded to other media. If the template does not recognize the name of some piece of media, it outputs that name completely unformatted.

Parameters

Parameter	Function
(first parameter)	Text representing the piece of media being cited. It should be the shortcut indicated on that article with Template:Shortcut (such as BL1).
type (optional)	Which version of the title to display. If set to short, present a "short" version of the title rather than its full title if possible. Typically the short version of a title is everything that comes after the first colon in the long version. For example, the "short" version of the full title BIONICLE Legends 1: Island of Doom is simply Island of Doom. If set to lead, present a "lead" version of the title rather than its full title if possible. The lead version of a piece of media's title should be used in the first sentence of that piece of media's article. Typically the lead version of a title is a bolded version of the short version. For example, the "lead" version of the full title BIONICLE 4: "The Bohrok Awake" is "The Bohrok Awake" (notice the quotation marks are not bolded). If set to displaytitle, present a {{DISPLAYTITLE}}-friendly version of the title rather than its full title if possible. This version should be used when customizing article titles with {{DISPLAYTITLE}}. Typically the {{DISPLAYTITLE}}-friendly version of a title is the same as the long version, but without extra characters such as quotation marks that are not present in article titles. (As a result, users can paste the {{DISPLAYTITLE}}-friendly version of a title into the search bar to reach the corresponding article.) For example, the {{DISPLAYTITLE}}-friendly version of the title BIONICLE 26: "Hanging by a Thread" is BIONICLE 26: Hanging by a Thread. Default: nothing (produces the fully styled title)
