"Concealing the mask in a safe place, Iruini uses his Kanohi Mask of Quick Travel to teleport himself... and reappears next to the Visorak cage."
— Narrator, Birth of the Rahaga

Kualsi
Kanohi
Title Mask of Quick Travel
Powers Teleportation
Component disks Teleport
Bearers Iruini
Pronunciation KOO-ahl-see

The Kanohi Kualsi is the Mask of Quick Travel. It allows its user to instantly move to any place they desire, even through energy fields, such as those made by a Kanohi Hau,[note 1] though teleporting safely is limited to their field of vision.[note 2] The user can teleport objects with them, but not other beings.[17]

On Metru Nui, Kanohi Kualsi are made from Teleport Kanoka.[18]

Notes

  1. Since physical obstacles between the user and their destination are not an issue,[1] neither is the shield of a Kanohi Hau.[2] However, Greg Farshtey has also stated that the shield would block a Kualsi user.[3]
  2. Though some sources limit the Kualsi entirely to the user's field of vision,[4][5][6][7] other sources suggest that it is not impacted by physical obstacles between the user and their destination,[8][9][1][10][11][12] but trying to teleport to a place the user cannot see, or are only seeing through telepathy or video, could result in them teleporting into an object.[13][14][15] The Kualsi operates similarly to the teleportation ability of Fader Bulls, which can teleport outside their field of vision but often die as a result.[16] In light of this, the sources that limit the mask to field of vision are understood as speaking of teleporting safely.
