2015 Stop-Motion Power-Up Videos

Self-explanatory. A little ways back Lego uploaded six 30-second stop-motion videos featuring each Master and his/her respective Protector goofing off and "combining" into the Toa's Power-up Mode. They were put on YouTube for a while before being removed, but now one of them is on the Bionicle Facebook page, and I'd wager the rest will soon follow. Since the Tahu one is out there now, I figure we should have a page. LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 21:31, 30 January 2015 (CET)

Yes

Page will be made.

Oh, while we're at it, anyone have a better collective name for these? LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 22:26, 31 January 2015 (CET)

"Toa/Protector Combiner Animations"? IDK. The simpler the name, the better, but it's hard to properly simplify what's going on in these videos. (This is Angel Bob, BTW, but the tilde key on my keyboard isn't working right now, so I can't sign.) (The preceding unsigned comment was made by Angel Bob)

Yeah I got nothing better. -- Dorek Talk External Image 02:43, 1 February 2015 (CET)

Oh, how's... that? "Power-up" differentiates these from the animated character videos and specifies what these are about. ("Power-Up Mode is the official name for the combos, right?") LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 08:48, 1 February 2015 (CET)
Yes, it is. I think it'll work much better. Video titles were always annoyingly confusing here since we never get clear cut ones heh. Although... these were uploaded to YouTube, right? Couldn't we just make it a generic version of that title? Generic as in, I assume they include the Toa's names somewhere for each one, so just replace that with "Toa"? --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)
It's only on the Facebook page for now, and I don't remember what they called it originally... but it was in Italian, and their non-English titles tend to differ drastically from the English ones anyway, so it might not have been the best name as it is. If they upload them back in English and with a better title, we can always change it. -- Dorek Talk External Image 19:18, 1 February 2015 (CET)

Do we wanna keep going with this even though Lego hasn't posted the other 5 videos like we expected? LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 08:38, 18 February 2015 (CET)

Well, they re-uploaded them on YouTube, so I guess it's fine? Might be another mistake, though. --maxim21 09:05, 18 February 2015 (CET)
Oh. Well then. (Also "LEGO Bionicle [Toa]" is a bland name. I say we stick with what I have up there.) LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 16:27, 18 February 2015 (CET)

Toa code

Wouldn't having a page for the Toa code be a good idea? It seems significant.--Willess12 (talk) 04:12, 7 March 2015 (CET)

There should have been (and was at some point?) a redirect to the Toa page, where all the relevant info is, so I just made a new one. The Toa code is unfortunately very vague; "thou shalt not kill" is about the only concrete thing we know. -- Dorek Talk External Image 04:43, 7 March 2015 (CET)

Teridax's Plan

This was a pretty important idea in the Bionicle storyline, especially in later years. It had a lot of moving parts, and different parties involved with various motivations. Most of the info is covered on the wiki, but not condensed into one main place. Thoughts? (Also, I don't know whether or not it would be better to just call the page "The Plan", which is less specific but more commonly used.)~ Volitak Boxor (talk) 18:58, 26 March 2015 (CET)

We actually had a page like this ages ago, and it was really unfocused and meandering. It was classified as an "event" page, but that was an enormous stretch, since nothing about the actual plan itself really qualified as an event. Once I saw how awful the page was, I reformatted it into Mata Nui's Reawakening, since that was the focal point of the entire plan and allowed for a more objective perspective anyway. I'm open to a redirect there, but I personally don't really see how a Plan page could be structured in such a way so as to be more helpful than other pages.

If you want to take a stab at sandboxing one, be my guest =P. -- Dorek Talk External Image 19:32, 26 March 2015 (CET)

I could take a crack at making a sandbox. I'm not sure I have a full understanding of all the details of the Plan, which is why I thought a page would be nice, but I'm having some discussion in S&T on BZP to try to get things straightened out in my own mind. I don't know how to do any of the titlebox/templates/etc., but I can try to look at other pages and learn that way. At the very least, I'll try to get the text ready. I wasn't aware that the Mata Nui's Reawakening page had some Plan details, but I think a Plan page could keep from being redundant. If not, or if it won't fit well within the same style as other articles, then it is what it is. At least I'll have learned something.
On the topic of categorization, I agree it's a big stretch to call it an event. Could it almost be grouped under society? I mean, achieving the Plan was the main goal of a major faction of one of the most powerful races in the MU. That sounds like an aspect of society to me (at least, enough to justify the categorization. Things like the Plan are hard to categorize in the current system). ~ Volitak Boxor (talk) 04:47, 28 March 2015 (CET)
I mean, it could be one of those exceedingly rare pages that doesn't actually have a template, but its ability to defy categorization doesn't necessarily inspire much confidence in it as a page =P -- Dorek Talk External Image 05:17, 28 March 2015 (CET)

It'd be nice if the page had an easy way to actually view the comics. Also, do we want to distinguish between Protector and Toa comics? Their differences are minor, but they are different. --Volitak Boxor (talk) 01:26, 18 July 2015 (CEST)

Really? I wasn't aware. How are they different? --Angel Bob (talk) 03:18, 18 July 2015 (CEST)
Mostly just panel arrangement and framing, since the Protector instruction books are landscape-oriented and the Toa's are portrait. See here (Lewa vs. PoJ). Also, the Skull Spider in the top-left corner of the example I posted changes color between versions; I'm not sure if there are other minor differences like that for the other comics. --Volitak Boxor (talk) 05:46, 18 July 2015 (CEST)
That sounds like something to be included in the Trivia section. --Angel Bob (talk) 05:51, 18 July 2015 (CEST)

Do we have to call them "2015 Box Comics"? I honestly find it rather tacky to stick "2015" onto every G2 media article, especially since some of them (esp. the Box Comics) might continue over into 2016 and 2017. 2015 Masters Commercial should be "Battle for the Masks of Power Commercial", as that's its official name on LEGO's YouTube; and I'd personally like to see 2015 Online Animations renamed "Okoto Online Animations". But for now, could we at least not stick "2015" onto the title of this article? Please? --Angel Bob (talk) 09:25, 18 July 2015 (CEST)

For now, we do, yeah, unless there are more official names or they do continue on into 2016. The masters commercial can be changed, probably, but the online animations will stay the same (until we see what happens after this year), and if this is getting a page, it's going to have 2015 too for the time being. -- Dorek Talk External Image 19:49, 18 July 2015 (CEST)
I just don't see the reason it's necessary. We don't use that naming convention for any of our other media pages; Bohrok Online Animations isn't "2002 Online Animations". Convince me that it's necessary, and I'll accept it. --Angel Bob (talk) 19:56, 18 July 2015 (CEST)
Were the Bohrok Online Animations explicitly identified as such? I'm fairly certain they were, although my memory could be hazy on that one. Okoto Online Animations is not only an unofficial term, it suffers from an offshoot of the same problem as you mentioned earlier; if in 2016 we're still on Okoto, but using a different animation (or different terminology or whatever), the name is not specific enough and would need to be changed again. It would be like having called the BOA "Mata Nui Online Animations" and then get presented with the Bohrok Kal Animations.
If in fact 2016 continues with these animations (and likewise, the box comics) then that's an issue we can adapt to. But right now, using 2015 in some instances (which is not unprecedented, since we've used year numbers for commercials and stuff before) is the best way of going about things. It's good with the search engine, and is as descriptive as necessary for the time being.
Also, if we're getting technical, is Box Comics the right name for this? The comics appear in a few places, including the boxes. I can't really think what else to call them, though. -- Dorek Talk External Image 20:21, 18 July 2015 (CEST)
I guess that makes enough sense. For the record, I still think it looks ugly. :P --Angel Bob (talk) 20:34, 18 July 2015 (CEST)

Gallery:Set Functions

There's a lot of images from the Bionicle website depicting the various functions of the sets, so I thought it would make sense to collect them all together on one page. I don't know if we want to include G1 images, too, since there's probably not an easy way to find and collect them all, but there's at least a lot of G2 images readily available.
