Category:Generation 2

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to have a page that groups all the 2015 pages together for easy and quick access. When we get more general information, it would be helpful for efficient addition of that information to have such a page; furthermore, I'm interested to see how the category grows as the months go on. (I'm not sure that we need a Category:Generation 1, though, especially considering that would be the largest category on the wiki.) --Angel Bob (talk) 03:53, 17 October 2014 (CEST)

Awaiting final decision on design and implementation.

I have no objection to this in concept. In fact, I'm thinking about making separate categories for character, locations, etc. as well. My only objection is the name. Generation 1/2 is a temporary solution, one that will hopefully change down the road (but might not). I'd be more for labeling the categories Bionicle I and Bionicle II, or something similar. Like I said, though, hopefully we'll be able to identify two continuities as the Mata Nui Saga and, I don't know, the Creation Saga or something of that nature.

This has my vote, but once we've ironed out the name. (Basically, I'd like a brainstorming session for possible replacements for the Generation titles. If nothing comes of it, we tried.) --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 04:24, 17 October 2014 (CEST)

I think Generation 2 is the most straightforward name to use. Toa Green Ninja - Bearer of the Mask of Spinjitzu (talk) 12:48, 17 October 2014 (CEST)
Yeah, I'm open to changing the name. Maybe Category:Okoto? --Angel Bob (talk) 14:14, 17 October 2014 (CEST)
Having it by generation is really the only way to do this without making up ridiculous names, like Okotoverse or something, or naming by location. What if the Toa leave Okoto? I'm sure that the entire second generation won't take place only on Okoto.--Boidoh (talk) 14:40, 17 October 2014 (CEST)
Perhaps BIONICLE2001 and BIONICLE2015 would work better? Proto talk 01:36, 18 October 2014 (CEST)
@Category:Okoto - I'd be against it right now, because 1) We'll probably learn about individual location on Okoto, which will have that category on it and 2) We agreed a long time ago that having location categories on character pages was ridiculous, because they're always moving from place to place.. --Vartemp Talk 15:09, 17 October 2014 (CEST)

I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other, but I think regardless of whether or not we set up categories we should have a gen icon on every page like Wookieepedia does. That way, people could quickly figure out the generation without having to scroll down to the bottom (assuming we set up the categories). Pages with content from both gens (like element pages if that's still the plan) wouldn't have either icon and would just have a section for each gen. -- Morris the Mata Nui Cow (talk) 04:31, 18 October 2014 (CEST)

I second that idea; the trouble is, what symbols would we use as gen icons? The UDD symbol and Vitruvian Mata Nui symbol are both already in use as era icons. :/ --Angel Bob (talk) 02:14, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
Simply, somebody should just make an icon off text with circles around labelled with "G1" and G2". The G1 can be a red circle and G2 can be blue or something. Toa Green Ninja - Bearer of the Mask of Spinjitzu (talk) 04:17, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
But that would be really boring. :/ --Angel Bob (talk) 16:12, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
Hmm... the actual UDD symbol isn't used as an era icon yet, just the modified one symbolizing reunion. Maybe it can be the Mata Nui saga icon, and we can make a silhouette of the Mask of Creation a placeholder symbol for the current story. Once we come up with something more appropriate, we can convert it into the 2015 era icon. --Master of the Rahkshi Ask, and ye shall receive. Eventually. 20:00, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
Ooh, how about this for G1? http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/File:Symbol_Toa_Mata_Nui.png Toa Green Ninja - Bearer of the Mask of Spinjitzu (talk) 20:16, 19 October 2014 (CEST)
Aye, there's an idea. The Ignika did turn out to be just about the most important mask in the Mata Nui saga anyway. --Angel Bob (talk) 20:24, 19 October 2014 (CEST)

Because Skall pages, especially Branar, are lacking in categories, I think this is needed.

Yes

  2. I didn't know I needed this until it was pointed out to me, but yes. We have altogether too many Skrall pages floating around there to not have a category. --Angel Bob (talk) 01:34, 30 October 2014 (CET)

Someone may have done this already, but I took the liberty of rounding up the pages that I expect would go in this: Element Lord of Rock, Skrall, Tuma, Stronius, Branar, Atakus, Skrall Fortress, Skrall Tribal Design Blade, Saw Blade Shield, Thorned Club, and maybe Rock Tribe, Roxtus, and Sisters of the Skrall. LockmanCapulet Crusty relics! 18:46, 30 October 2014 (CET)

Eh, I'm not sold on Atakus and Rock Tribe; those pages are not entirely to do with Skrall, especially after the recent revelations about Atakus. --Angel Bob (talk) 20:37, 30 October 2014 (CET)
I meant for this to be a species category, so the pages Skrall, Branar, Stronius, Tuma, and Element Lord of Rock would be in it. --Vartemp Talk 23:40, 30 October 2014 (CET)
No reason Sisters of the Skrall to not also be.
All the others definitely shouldn't though. --~|RC|~ (Talk/Contribs)

I feel like the category could branch out to include things like the Rock Tribe, which would in turn include Atakus, but then the Bone Hunters might be too far removed. -- I AM THE DOREK do not truffle with me 00:33, 31 October 2014 (CET)

Why would we include Rock Tribe in this category? While the Skrall were affiliated with the Rock Tribe, the Rock Tribe also consisted of many Agori, and I don't want to see Agori in a category dedicated to a non-Agori species. That doesn't make any sense. --Angel Bob (talk) 02:33, 31 October 2014 (CET)
