The set was released in Summer 2008 as part of the "Mistika" line. The set contains contains 73 pieces.

Parts from Tahu can also be combined with parts from 8688 Toa Gali and 8690 Toa Onua to create Trinuma.

The set was included in K8688 Mistika Collection, K8942 The Ultimate BIONICLE Collection, and 66273 Costco Co-Pack B, and 3 copies of the set were included in 4529066 BIONICLE Mistika Red/Blue Asst..

Features

The set includes a Nynrah Ghost Blaster and 2 gunmetal gray ammunition pieces. Tahu's Rotating Fire Blades can also be spun.

Several of the smaller 2008 figures can be mounted on Tahu's back, though the set is advertised as combining with 8945 Solek.

The back of the canister featured the B.I.O code HTU918.
