We should set a standard for abbreviating dates in this template. A lot of the world does it like this: dd-mm-yy. In the good old US of A it's done like this: mm-dd-yy. This can lead to confusion when talking about days like March 1: is it 1-3-17 or 3-1-17? I recommend this way: yyyy-mm-dd on xkcd's recommendation. :P What do you think? -- <font color="#f11f1f">Morris the Mata Nui Cow</font> (talk) 00:34, 1 March 2017 (CET)

== OGD Archive Updates ==
Hey guys, | |||
I thought I'd let you know that I've added a copy of the Farshtey Feed to the OGD Archive website. The best part is that I've added a way to link to individual bullet points, which I imagine would be pretty useful for citations :) . Here's an example of what that looks like. Just click on the bullet point to get a permalink to it. I've also fixed up some markup errors and gotten rid of unnecessary spoiler tags (everything in spoiler tags used to be unreadable). Every post has a link to the original post on BZPower to boot.

Got another update for ya! I added the ability to cite individual questions in the OGD. More precisely, you can link to individual lines or ranges of lines within a single post. This makes it much easier to locate questions within posts that have dozens of different questions. Would you be willing to modify this template so that it's possible to just copy-paste a full URL from the OGD Archive as its only argument, and have the template automatically figure out which topic it belongs to and how to format the link? I was able to get this to work on the TGA wiki, and I find it's much more convenient. —Planetperson 06:06, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

- I used the dd-mm-yy by reflex. -- Surel—Nuva (Talk) 00:51, 1 March 2017 (CET)
- I'd say we should use the one that's used in the transcripts, so you can copy&paste it into the searchbar and find the post immediatley. E.g Mar 11 2009, 07:37 PM. We should specify the time because rhere are at least seven different post for each day, so it does not cause confusion. ~OnionShark 07:11, 1 March 2017 (CET)
I should use the "nowiki" with the ":", because if I don't use them, the text would be altered in a strange way, exactly, the text after the ODG/OGQ/OGDi went down one row. -- Surel—Nuva (Talk)
- Alright. I think that happened because a colon at the start of a line creates an indent even if the colon is wrapped in switch loops, if statements, etc. like in the template.

Easier way of adding citations
Would you be willing to modify this template so that it's possible to just copy-paste a full URL from the OGD Archive as its only argument, and have the template automatically figure out which topic it belongs to and how to format the link? I was able to get this to work on the TGA wiki, and I find it's much more convenient. —Planetperson 06:06, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
