"The desert landscape passed in a yellowish blur, all details obscured by the Toa's immense speed. After a moment, the yellowish blur shifted into a brown one punctuated by flashes of green, and then quickly grew paler again until all Pohatu could see around him was white."

The Kanohi Kakama is the Mask of Speed. It provides a consistant boost to the user's natural speed,[2] allowing them to move and run at incredible speeds on all surfaces, far faster than the eye can follow.[1] The mask also grants the user heightened reflexes and sharper vision to keep up with the increased speed, along with resistance to the friction the increased speed causes.[3][4][5]

On Metru Nui, Kanohi Kakama are made from a combination of Teleport and Reconstitute at Random Kanoka.[6]

Example Usage

Set Information

The original Kakama was first released in 2001 as part of 8531 Pohatu in brown, 1388 Huki in dark orange, and 8549 Tarakava in teal. It was one of the masks possible to be received in 8525 BIONICLE Masks, in brown, red, blue, green, black, and white. It was also possible to get the mask in the aforementioned six colors through BIONICLE: Quest for the Masks. In 2002, it was made available in silver and gold in set 8559 Krana. It was later released again in dark orange as part of set 8584 Hewkii in 2003. The mask bears the code 5-MG on the inside. The prototype Kakama instead featured the code covering its forehead vent.

The noble Kanohi Kakama was released in orange in 2008, as part of set 8946 Photok
