== Biographies ==

The Bahrag were created by the [[Great Beings]] with the sole purpose of leading the Bohrok in cleansing the island of [[Mata Nui (Location)|Mata Nui]] and crafting [[krana]] for them. They were not given the knowledge of anything beyond the relevance of their task, and have no knowledge of any other beings, such as [[Makuta (Species)|Makuta]] [[Teridax]] or the [[Toa Mata]]. An early record of the Bahrag is on a carving in the tunnels below the island of Mata Nui. This carving depicts the Bahrag dipping a mysterious object into [[Energized Protodermis]], and emerging with a krana, a practice the Bahrag have been known to do.

Shortly after their creation, the Bahrag mutated six Bohrok into the [[Bohrok-Kal]], as a precaution in case they should be incapable of contacting the Bohrok swarms. They also made the [[Krana-Kal|krana-kal]], which were capable of functioning independently, without needing the Bahrag to direct them.

The Bahrag were awoken via a [[Sonics|sonic]] signal sent by Makuta Teridax. Due to the lack of instructions on how to deal with being woken up prematurely, they assumed it was time to cleanse the island, and sent the Bohrok to [[Bohrok Invasion|do their job]]. Though they encountered several unpredicted obstacles, the Bahrag managed to overcome each one by their preferred method of assimilating the foe into the swarm. They remained in their [[Bohrok Nests|nest]] for several days, directing the Bohrok as per their task.

The Bahrag were soon [[Battle in the Bohrok Nest|confronted]] by the six {{G|1|Toa}} Mata, who had successfully acquired eight breeds of krana and unlocked the [[Exo-Toa]] armor. The Bahrag recognized the Toa Mata as fellow servants of [[Mata Nui (Being)|Mata Nui]], and referred to them as such. However, they were attacked, and retaliated against the Toa. Three of the Toa clashed with Gahdok, while the other three fought against Cahdok. The Toa Mata slowly gained the upper hand, due to the extra power afforded to them by the Exo-Toa. However, as the Bahrag were slowly cornered in the same chamber, their own power of symbiosis increased their powers immensely, to the point where even [[Electro-Rocket|a blast]] from the Exo-Toa dissolved several feet from them. Having battled to a stalemate, the Toa willingly shed their suits, regaining their hampered {{G|1|Elements|Elemental Powers}}. Realizing that they could not defeat the Bahrag, the Toa Mata combined their elemental powers in a last ditch effort, forming a [[Toa Seal]], and trapped the Bahrag inside. This caused their fall into tubes of [[Energized Protodermis]], transforming them into the [[Toa Nuva]].

The defeat of the Bahrag activated the [[Bohrok Invasion#Bohrok-Kal Strike|release]] of the Bohrok-Kal. Though the Bohrok-Kal managed to defeat most of the obstacles and locate the Bahrag, they were [[Battle Against the Bohrok-Kal|overpowered]] by energy fed to them by the [[Nuva Symbol]]s, and stopped short of freeing their masters. The Bahrag remained trapped in a Protodermis cage, waiting to be released so that they could continue to do their job.

Months later, the Bahrag were approached by the Toa Nuva, who had [[Scroll of Preparations|realized]] that the cleansing of Mata Nui was vital to the survival of the universe. Using their elemental powers, they broke the seal containing the queens. After a brief conversation, the Bahrag sent a signal to the Bohrok, awakening the swarms once more. From there, they continued their appointed task, clearing the island of Mata Nui. Though they encountered unexpected resistance from [[Kardas]], the Bohrok swarms eventually overcame all obstacles and completed their job.

After the Matoran Universe was [[Battle of Bara Magna|damaged beyond repair]], the Bahrag left their nest and immigrated to [[Spherus Magna]].{{GregCitation|OGDi|page=295|post=11800|lines=8,9}}{{GregCitation|OGDi|page=297|post=11859}}

== Abilities and Traits ==

The Bahrag possess a wider range of the six Bohrok's abilities: {{G|1|Fire}}, {{G|1|Ice}}, {{G|1|Earth}}, [[Acid]], {{G|1|Stone}}, and {{G|1|Water}}. The Bahrag also possess the power to create powerful [[illusion]]s, which they use to protect their nest from intruders. They can also communicate [[Telepathy|telepathically]] to the krana.

The Bahrag are symbiotic, drawing power from each other. The closer they get to each other, the more concentrated their powers become. When they stand next to each other, their defensive capabilities were so great that a powerful barrier formed around them.

The two Bahrag could be distinguished by their antennae (Cahdok's are long and thin while Gahdok's are short and clubbed) or their color (Cahdok is blue while Gahdok is red).

[[Set:8558|8558 Cahdok & Gahdok]] was released as a single boxed set in the summer of 2002, containing 630 pieces. Their tails acted as handles so one could more easily pull the trigger in their torsos, which made them thrust their necks forward while biting with their mouths. When one bit and removed the other's chest, the other would be incapacitated as if in injury. In this way the Bahrag's biting function was advertised as a means for the two to battle each other or another set. Instructions were also included with the set to build a non-canon [[Set:8558 (Alternate)|alternate model]].
