Zamor Spheres are special hollow spheres of crystal that can be fired from Zamor Launchers.

History

Zamor were first designed by the Nynrah Ghosts and used by Toa Jovan around 79,000 years ago.[citation needed: OGD,etc?]

The Nynrah Ghosts later redesigned the Zamor Spheres and their launchers.[citation needed: OGD,etc?] Prototypes of these new launchers were stolen from them by the Dark Hunters Nidhiki and Krekka.[2]

Zamor Spheres containing Teridax's Antidermis were used by the Piraka to enslave nearly the entire Matoran population of Voya Nui.[3] The Toa Inika and Voya Nui Resistance Team used Zamor Spheres filled with Energized Protodermis to reverse the effects of the virus on the Matoran [4] and the Toa Nuva.[5]

Hakann imbued a Zamor Sphere with Vezok's power of absorption and used it to steal Brutaka's power for himself and Thok. Hewkii used a special Zamor Sphere made by Vezok to reverse this effect.[4]

Axonn imbued a Zamor Sphere with his power over stasis fields, allowing the Toa Inika to freeze Vezon and Kardas.[5]

Functionality

Hewkii firing a Zamor Sphere

The skin of each Zamor Sphere is made of a special crystal that can temporarily become intangible when physical contact is made with another object. The sphere is filled with gas, liquid, or energy, depending on what effect is desired. When the Zamor hits a target, the sphere's solid surface gives way and releases its contents into its target, leaving whatever is in the sphere to do its work on the target. Zamor Spheres are entirely transparent, so their color is a reflection of the contents.[3]

Set Information

Zamor Spheres from the packs

The Piraka and Toa Inika canister sets of 2006 were each packaged with 4 Zamor Spheres, green for the Piraka, and one of three different colors (red, yellow-orange, sea-green, or blue) for the Toa Inika. Additional packs of Zamor Spheres were sold separately as 8719 Zamor Spheres. These contained 10 gold, gunmetal and silver Zamor Spheres in a random three-three-four color combination.

Zamor Spheres also appeared in various playsets in 2006. Green spheres were used by the Piraka, while blue spheres were used by the Toa. 8892 Piraka Outpost had four blue Zamor, 8893 Lava Chamber Gate had four green and six blue Zamor, 8894 Piraka Stronghold had five green and two blue Zamor, and 8624 Race for the Mask of Life had four green and two blue Zamor.
