Vira is a Le-Matoran native to Metru Nui.

Biography

Metru Nui

Vira was a Chute Station Attendant on Metru Nui.[2] He helped Toa Metru Matau while the Toa was looking for Orkahm by showing him the chute the Le-Matoran took.[3] Though he had seen one, he had never met a Toa before this.[2]

Shortly before the Great Cataclysm, he was taken by the Vahki and forcibly placed in a Matoran Sphere, from which he was later rescued by the Toa Metru and reawakened on Mata Nui.[4][5]

Mata Nui

Consequent to his imprisonment in a Matoran Sphere, Vira forgot his life on Metru Nui and was reduced in size and strength physically. Alongside the other Le-Matoran, Vira labored in the effort to construct Le-Koro, which Matau directed and the Matoran carried out, using pieces from Airships which the Toa had transported the Matoran in.[6]

He became a member of the Gukko Bird Force on Mata Nui, and normally patrolled the skies of Le-Wahi.[7] During a Rahi attack on Le-Koro, Vira, Tamaru, and a few other Le-Matoran, were the only ones to avoid being taken by the Nui-Rama. They hid themselves upon hearing Takua arrive at the village, but once they heard him play a flute they showed themselves and spoke with him. Later during another Rahi attack, Vira stayed behind in Le-Koro during the Gukko Bird Force's raid on the Nui-Rama Hive. Matau and the other Le-Matoran were freed with the help of Onua.[8]

During the Bohrok Invasion, he was among the Le-Matoran to be captured by the Bohrok, and had his Kanohi switched with a krana.[9] The krana was later taken off and his mask restored, thanks to an ambush of the swarm by Kongu and Tamaru with the aid of Boxors.[10]

Vira was rebuilt into a sturdier form following the defeat of the Bohrok-Kal.[11]

Return to Metru Nui

Vira also helped in the construction of boats to assist in his and the other Matoran's return to Metru Nui.[3] Once they had reached, the Matoran, including Vira, worked on the city's reconstruction. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone,[12] but he eventually got back to work until the usage of the Staff of Artakha restored Metru Nui to its former glory.[13]

After Teridax's defeat at the hands of Mata Nui, Vira and the other Matoran evacuated to the reformed planet of Spherus Magna, where he now resides.[14][15]
