Talk:Mahi

From BIONICLEsector01

Mahi can mean "work" in Māori. Since they're from the early era of BIONICLE, is it plausible to think that this might have been another instance of using Polynesian words? It would make a certain amount of sense IMO, given that the Matoran use them as beasts of burden. - Toa Jala Converse 18:26, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

It could be, though this was the second name of the animal; it had been changed to this in MNOG 2 after being called "Maha" in all prior media. If Mahi was picked from Maori, then it would be the only Maori word they introduced post-Naming Day. Does "Maha" mean anything? --Gonel (talk) 18:56, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
I'm seeing that Maha means "many". - Toa Jala Converse 05:07, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
