Talk:Iden

From BIONICLEsector01

For the needed citation on body-swapping and keeping your powers, can we use the scene where tren krom took lewa's body, but didn't have access to his air powers, since they're tied to his soul? Intelligence4 (talk) 07:21, 30 May 2017 (CET)

No because the Iden had nothing to do with the swap. ~OnionShark 07:46, 30 May 2017 (CET)
but it shows that a toa's powers are tied to their spirit, not their body, which is the fact in question. Intelligence4 (talk) 22:34, 2 June 2017 (CET)
First of all, Toa do not have spirits. GregF has said that only a diety can give a soul to a being, and the GBs are not dieities. Their powers are tied to their AI. But to answer the question, I think we should a source that directly says that, and I'm certain that there's one. ~OnionShark 10:29, 3 June 2017 (CET)
it's literally called the mask of spirit though - i think that was just one of the issues that greg did a forgetcon on. (furthermore, and out of universe, since this is a lego franchise, they couldn't confirm/deny the existence of a spirit/soul since that could be construed as supporting some religion or another, so that's the reason this was never expounded more upon. iirc, greg even said something about that when he talked about this subject - but an AI, regardless of how advanced, still requires hardware to run on, and when matoro used his mask, he definitely wasn't inhabiting a body/hardware.) (we could drag this philosophical discussion on forever, but that's not the point. their powers aren't tied to their bodies is the whole point haha :) ).
getting to that point, i have a half remembered memory of reading about the body swapping thing on bionicle.com back in the day when this was current info. maybe on a discussion board with greg, or bzpower, or something? i think it was something that had to do with the mask, and not anything to do with matoro - like one of those old clickable things they had that would tell you more about the mask. if we could find anything from that on the wayback machine or whatever, that could work as a source that directly talks about the subject.
