The Staff of Artakha is a mysterious staff created by Artakha. The Staff of Artakha is capable of recreating any broken object, so long as a fragment of it remains.
History
The Staff was placed in the Archives of Metru Nui, where the Toa Mata were intended to retrieve it, as per the Scroll of Preparations. However, the Dark Hunters stole the Staff during a raid, and gave it to the Shadowed One, their leader. The Shadowed One later sold the Staff to Xia, in exchange for a weapons order.
Makuta Icarax, who was searching for the Staff, arrived on Xia and located the item. He then took the Staff just before the arrival of the Toa Nuva (the transformed Toa Mata), defeating Onua Nuva when the Toa came for it. The Makuta later fought the six Toa Nuva for the Staff in Karzahni, and emerged victorious. He later passed the Staff over to Makuta Teridax, who attempted to use it to recreate what he believed to be the Nui Stone. During a confrontation with the mutated Brutaka, it was seized by the Order of Mata Nui member and passed to Botar to prevent Teridax from reconstructing the Nui Stone. Botar then teleported away with the Staff.
After this, Botar transported the Toa Nuva to Daxia, where they witnessed Trinuma placing the Staff in a power cradle which amplified the Staff's power, sending energy flooding throughout the entire Matoran Universe, undoing all the damage of the Great Cataclysm except that which was done to Karda Nui.
Trivia
- The Staff's power range is far greater than that of a Great Kiril. Its only limitation is its inability to undo the damage in Karda Nui from outside, as the shielded walls are too strong.
- The Staff only repaired damage done directly by the Great Cataclysm. Any damage done to the universe afterwards had to be fixed in other ways.
