Lightfish are minuscule jellyfish-like Rahi native to the underwater caves of Metru Nui.[1]
History
The Lightfish were created made by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to populate the Matoran Universe.
The Lightfish could be found in the deepest underwater caves of Ga-Metru on Metru Nui.[1] Lightfish were first described by the Rahaga in the compendium of Rahi that they compiled during the Great Rescue.[2]
The Ga-Matoran of Ga-Koro discovered Lightfish during the Matoran occupation of Mata Nui.[1] Because of their bright, constant glow, they were used as an alternative to Lightstones. Lightfish were placed in glass containers and used to illuminate huts.[3]
Abilities and Traits
Lightfish are bioluminescent, releasing a constant glow for their entire lifetimes. However, they cease to glow when they die.[4]
