"We needed law enforcers. Instead, we got dusty, clanking energy vampires. They should have just sent all of you to the Moto-Hub and turned you into Ussal carts."

History

The Kralhi were designed as a result of a perceived need for law enforcers in Metru Nui. Several were constructed according to Nuparu's design and began their task of enforcing rules as given by Turaga Dume, the ruler of Metru Nui.

However, Matoran who were brought to justice by Kralhi were too weak to go back to work for several days, resulting in Turaga Dume ordering the robots' destruction. However, the Kralhi refused to be taken apart and escaped to the lower sections of the Archives and Ko-Metru. Later, some of them left Metru Nui entirely and fled across the Silver Sea to within the Great Barrier.

Eventually the escaped Kralhi formed an alliance with the self-exiled Archivist Mavrah, who used them as his personal guards. Additionally, he often used them to guard the large sea creatures he had taken with him.

During their trip to Mata Nui, the Toa Metru were spotted by six Kralhi, and one of the six units informed Mavrah of the Toa's arrival. The Onu-Matoran then ordered the Kralhi to capture the Toa and bring them to him, convinced that they were after him. Nokama was the first to be captured in an energy bubble by the Kralhi, quickly followed by the other Toa Metru. They brought them back to Mavrah, as ordered, and three stayed to guard the Toa as they awakened. When Onewa attempted to use his Kanohi on Mavrah, the robots responded by launching a weakness disk at the Toa. Vakama used his Kanohi Huna and escaped, but two more Kralhi were soon sent to find him. However, Vakama was ready for them and fried one of the machines with his elemental power, as he launched a freeze Kanoka at the other one, shattering it.

Meanwhile, Onewa opened the stone floor beneath the Kralhi guarding the five Toa, and crushed it into a cube. Nuju, battling another Kralhi, encased its tail with ice as it was about to fire an energy bubble, destroying it. Vakama then joined with his fellow Toa Metru and together they managed to destroy the majority of the Kralhi before escaping.

Abilities and Traits

The Kralhi's method of deterring crimes was to create a bubble with their tail that could contain the beings causing disruption and drain them of enough of their energy so that they could no longer cause trouble. However, this method often rendered the affected Matoran too weak to do any work, thus making the Kralhi useless.

These machines would often seem eager to kill.

Set Information

A Kralhi in set form

The Kralhi can be built out of the Toa Metru sets Vakama, Matau, and Onewa using building instructions divided between the sets' instruction booklets. Its upper body could swivel while a gear function caused the arms to alternately swing at the same time.
