Other Kanohi are Kanohi about which little is known, such as their appearance, known users, or examples of their powers.

Mask of Adaptation

The Mask of Adaptation

The Mask of Adaptation is a Kanohi that automatically adapts its user's body to their surroundings. This includes combat situations, local environments, and current weather conditions. The mask is always on at a low level and sensing the nearby environment, and will alter them immediately if it senses a need for change. The mask's power returns to a low level after changing the wearer. However, if the mask is knocked off while the user is altered, then they are permanently stuck in that form.[1]

Mask of Aging

The Mask of Aging

The Mask of Aging is a Kanohi that allows its user to slightly accelerate the life processes of one or more targets to make them slower and weaker.

Toa would consider this mask power immoral.[1]

Mask of Biomechanics

The Mask of Biomechanics

The Mask of Biomechanics is a Kanohi that allows its user to mentally interface with machinery and control or influence them, depending on range and complexity of the technology. It also gives the user a minor enhancement of their mechanical strength. The user cannot control the mechanical parts of other beings without their consent, but can slow them down.[1]

Mask of Conjuring

The Mask of Conjuring

The Mask of Conjuring is a Kanohi that allows its user to program a limited power into the mask for a brief period of time. The user must describe in detail the power desired and at least one weakness. If the phrasing is spoken wrong, it causes intense psychic backlash in the user's mind. The user can use a programmed power for fifteen minutes (with a Great version), and after the time is out, the user must wait thirty seconds to activate the mask again. The Noble version will only work for five minutes. Another weakness is because it takes time, any enemies nearby can hear in detail what power to expect and what its weakness is. Because of this, the usage of the mask is more commonly done alone.[1]

Mask of Fusion

The Mask of Fusion

The Mask of Fusion is a Kanohi that allows its user to forcibly merge themselves with one or more beings into a single larger being. The mask-user will maintain most of the mental control over the fused being. Strong minds can resist the merging, and even a weak mind can interfere with the user's control. The Kanohi can also be used to keep natural fusions stable in presence of powers that disrupt them.[1]

If a Mask of Fusion were to be destroyed while two beings are still merged from the power of the mask, the fusion would split up.[7]

Mask of Healing

The Mask of Healing is a Kanohi that allows its user to heal others (but not themselves). In order for the Kanohi to work, the user needs to have a basic understanding of the wounds or illnesses that need curing. The speed of the healing depends on the user's willpower and the condition that needs curing. Masks of Healing cannot be used to heal Spherus Magna natives due to the physiological differences between them and Matoran Universe inhabitants.[citation needed]

Mask of Incomprehension

The Mask of Incomprehension

The Mask of Incomprehension[9] is a Kanohi that allows the user to scramble both spoken and written languages. This mask can be countered by the Kanohi Rau and cannot affect hand signals.

Toa would consider this mask power immoral.[1]

Mask of Rebounding

The Mask of Rebounding

The Mask of Rebounding is a Kanohi that allows its user to cause non-exploding or non-fragmenting projectiles to come back to them after the object has been thrown at and hit a target. The mask's power uses a small amount of telekinesis, so the harder the user focuses on the projectile, the more accurate the rebound is.[1]

Mask of Sensory Aptitude

The Mask of Sensory Aptitude

The Mask of Sensory Aptitude is a Kanohi that gives its user the power to enhance all five of their senses to a high degree. The user's sense of balance is also increased. The user's enhanced sight is not as good as it would be as if they were wearing a Kanohi Ruru or an Akaku.[1]

Mask of Undeath

A Matoran wearing a Mask of Undeath in Karzahni

The Mask of Undeath is a Kanohi that siphons off a fraction of its user's life energy from their body, which it infuses the body with after death. The body is then animated by the lifeforce, and attempts to fulfill the last objective the user had while living. The mask gives the user no other special power and will slow down their processing, making it harder for them to fight. While undead, the user will lose all illumination in their eyes, making them empty and black.

Toa would consider this mask power immoral.[1]

Trivia

  • These masks (apart from the Mask of Healing) were originally part of the fan-based project "Expanded Multiverse"; they were adapted and later approved for canon by Greg Farshtey.[1]
    • When it was originally canonized, the Mask of Incomprehension was called the "Mask of Untranslation";[1] it was renamed soon after.[9]
  • The Mask of Healing was suggested to Greg Farshtey by BZPower's Bionicle Story Squad and was accepted into canon.[citation needed]
  • The Matoran shown wearing a Mask of Undeath is not actually undead; Matoran cannot use Kanohi powers. Instead, the mask has black glass-like eyepieces to mimic the appearance of undeath.[9]
  • There is a mask for each element, similar to the Kanohi Garai, with the exception of Sand due to it being excluded from the Matoran Universe.[11]
