Hydraxon is a former member of the Hand of Artakha and Order of Mata Nui who perished during the Great Cataclysm. He is also the namesake for a transformed duplicate who fulfills his duties.
Biography
Hydraxon was originally a member of the Hand of Artakha. After its disbanding, he was invited to join the Order of Mata Nui by Toa Helryx. As one of his first missions, Hydraxon was tasked with recruiting fellow former Hand member Axonn into the Order.[citation needed: BEU?]
Hydraxon was later called upon to train the Toa Mata, who had recently been created. Hydraxon trained the Toa Mata in combat, fighting them himself and unleashing Spinax, his Energy Hound, upon them. He also tested their compatibility with one another, unmasking them and forcing them to work together as a team.[2]
Upon finishing his training with the Toa Mata, Hydraxon was assigned to be jailer of the Pit.[2] He was assisted by several Maxilos robots. He later gave custody of Spinax to one of the Maxilos robots.[3]
Hydraxon was severely injured when the Great Cataclysm hit the Pit, shattering its dome and causing a cave-in. Takadox came across the wounded Hydraxon and used the opportunity to kill him.[4]
Hydraxon was transported to the Red Star to be revived and sent back to the Matoran Universe. However, as the return function of the Red Star had malfunctioned, Hydraxon was unable to be returned to the Matoran Universe, and remains trapped in the Red Star.[1]
One thousand years later, the Kanohi Ignika transformed the Po-Matoran Dekar into a replica of Hydraxon. The Ignika duplicated everything about Hydraxon, including his memories, so Dekar now believes he is the original jailer of the Pit.[4]
Abilities and Traits
Hydraxon has a strong sense of justice and is dedicated to his job, never giving up on re-capturing escapees.[4] As with all Order of Mata Nui members, Hydraxon's mind is shielded against Telepathy and mental attacks. He is also a master of weaponry and an expert at all variations of combat tactics with all types of weapons.[2][5] Hydraxon also has very sensitive hearing.[3]
Tools
Hydraxon wears thick, protective armor. He possessed a wide range of weaponry and tools with which he is extremely skilled. Hydraxon carried a Cordak Blaster, Wrist Blades, as well as Exploding Boomerangs. He also bore two Back Blades which he could launch telekinetically. After his revival on the Red Star, the status of his tools is unknown.
Set Information
8923 Hydraxon was released as a large boxed set in the summer of 2007, consisting of 165 pieces. His clawed fingers were movable, as were his Back Blades. His Exploding Boomerangs were mounted on his shoulders. On his left wrist he wore his Wrist Blades while a Cordak Blaster was affixed to his right. The set featured nine Cordak mini-rockets, three of which could be stored on his feet at specific points while the other six occupied the barrel of the Cordak Blaster.
