BIONICLE Facebook Page

This wiki should probably have some way of referencing the happenings of the Bionicle Facebook page, which often releases images and videos that are either exclusive or are not released on another source until later and hosts events such as contests. Bionicle websites have articles so it should seem logical that the facebook page should as well. Even if a page is not made, there should be some way of referencing events that unfold on the facebook page as well as images, videos, and other content. This could mean a nav template or a category of some form. Post your thoughts.

I've made pages for each of the individual contests (just been really slow fleshing them out, since nobody else seems to want to tackle it...), but a page for the Facebook page as a whole could be interesting. -- Dorek Talk External Image 08:25, 30 January 2016 (CET)

I assume this is the official BIONICLE page (i.e., it was actually run by LEGO, and not a fan page)? -- External Image Speak to Me 07:25, 18 February 2016 (CET)

Memoirs of the Dead/Thousand Years Untold 2 Stories

Some time ago, Jam Pot put this up on the main page discussion, but no one really said anything about it. On BZP on a topic in the BS01 category, he said he would put this up here, but I see he hasn’t.

Jam Pot was asking about the winning stories of the BZP S&T Memoirs of the Dead and Thousand Years Untold contests since, while they were originally supposed to be accepted as canon, Greg later said he didn’t consider these canon anymore. Jam Pot (and I) felt they should at least be included on BS01 with a semi-canon/non-canon tag, to distinguish them, much like Matoran names from ’01 that were never canon. --777stairs (talk) 02:15, 10 April 2016 (CET)

  3. --User:Jampot I vote yes, or at least making them semi-canon as has been described. It's unfair the contests' winners haven't really been recognised for their efforts, and I will always welcome new canon/semi-canon. --Jampot (talk) 23:49, 3 May 2016 (CET)

  1. As their own pages, no. As part of Dorek's Media page (yeah, it'll totally happen), sure. ζoxHistories External Image 06:42, 12 April 2016 (CET)

I could see it as a mention, with the relevant links to where the stories are hosted, on the Media page (as part of my eventual overhaul it'll totally happen shut up), but beyond that, no for me. -- Dorek Talk External Image 07:37, 10 April 2016 (CET)

Could you provide a link to the source material you're proposing a page for? Intelligence4 (talk) 05:54, 12 April 2016 (CET)

@Eddy_Gould Well, technically the Mata Nui Online Game isn't canon and it's on here.--777stairs (talk) 02:41, 14 April 2016 (CET)

It's semi-canon, plus we have every Bionicle game here, though they aren't canon. --External Image 10:20, 14 April 2016 (CET)
The difference is, all the games were made by professional companies, with LEGO's approval. These stories were written by fans, and Greg agreed that he would look over and approve the winners -- but that never happened, so they were never officially recognized by any LEGO employee. I think they deserve a mention on a hypothetical Media page as "almost canon", but until we make that page, I don't think they have a compelling case for inclusion. --Angel Bob (talk) 21:50, 14 April 2016 (CET)
I would settle for a Media page I guess.--777stairs (talk) 02:59, 15 April 2016 (CET)

Hunter Mask

This mask has been shown to have a great variety of special powers in Journey to One, enough that I think it deserves a page to catalogue and describe all the usages. It will also have a recolor coming out in the summer wave, which may or may not have storyline significance, but this page would be a good place to mention it. Besides, we could always use more G2 mask pages.

I'll make a sandbox shortly, but I wanted to get the idea in everyone's heads first. What do you say, BS01? --Angel Bob (talk) 20:49, 29 May 2016 (CET)

I'll say yes, but just to reiterate, what are the mask's special powers again? --777stairs (talk) 21:28, 29 May 2016 (CET)

We've seen him teleport through shadows, expand an area of shadow, use shadows to bind/snare Toa and creatures, create shadow duplicates of himself, and that's just off the top of my head. More to come as I build the sandbox. --Angel Bob (talk) 23:47, 30 May 2016 (CET)

I've whipped up a first attempt at a sandbox. Looking at the Umarak page, I'm not sure if his "Shadow Spawn" power comes from his mask or his bow; thoughts? --Angel Bob (talk) 18:40, 1 June 2016 (CET)

I think Umarak's own power to create the Shadow Spawn, not his mask's or his bow's. -- Surel-Nuva (Talk) 15:33, 2 June 2016 (CET)
I'm not sure I believe that -- the pattern in G2 seems to be that people gain power through their masks and tools. We haven't seen anyone else who has a power that's inherent to them. --Angel Bob (talk) 20:53, 2 June 2016 (CET)
Elemental Creatures have inherent powers, IIRC. And Umarak was created similarly. --maxim21 06:12, 3 June 2016 (CET)

The elemental creatures do have elemental powers on their own, just like the g1 toa - presumably because you can't give a fish or a bird a weapon. (But I swear on some page here, we listed the "creature masks"). But like Bob said, it looks like everyone else could just switch powers by swapping masks. (Which is one of my main gripes with g2...) Anyway, I'm surprised we don't have a page already for that mask, given the story role it has had. I don't think it should be called the mask of shadows through, since it was never called that in story. Speaking of which, is JtO basically the only source for the story this year so far? Or is there something else like books and comics we can use to discern which powers come from umarak's mask vs his tools or whatever? (The preceding unsigned comment was made by Intelligence4)

Your "gripes with G2" aren't really here nor there, but you are right - it was never called the Mask of Shadows, so that obviously shouldn't be its name. I misremembered and thought it had been. As for story sources, Umarak hasn't appeared in any other media, so until/unless he does, J2O is all we have to go by. The real clincher will be if he demonstrates his Shadow Spawn power as the Destroyer. If he doesn't, then it would seem obvious that those powers were contained within the Hunter Mask. If he does, that will obfuscate the issue. In the meantime, however, I think the draft I've whipped up covers everything that is known about the Hunter Mask so far. --Angel Bob (talk) 20:43, 4 July 2016 (CET)

Golden Masks of Unity

This would probably be something like the Hunter Mask.

The page would likely look a lot like the Golden Masks of Power page, except with information on their background, the quest to find them, and on how the Golden Masks allow the Toa to unite with the Elemental Creatures. There's also the possibility we'll see more information in the second half of the year. What do you guys think? --777stairs (talk) 00:00, 3 June 2016 (CET)

Yes

  1. --777stairs (talk) 00:00, 3 June 2016 (CET)
  2. It makes sense to have a page for these masks, as they helped drive the plot of the winter wave. We did the same for the Golden Masks of Power, after all. --Angel Bob (talk) 02:56, 3 June 2016 (CET)

With the original Golden Masks there was a lot of history behind them, so I'm a little hesitant on these. -- Dorek Talk External Image 07:20, 3 June 2016 (CET)

I don't really follow G2, so I don't know how/why they got their Golden Masks, or what they do, but remember that the story behind the G1 Golden Kanohi wasn't fully revealed for several years. The G2 Golden Masks might be expanded upon later. -- Toa Jala Converse 18:23, 6 July 2016 (CET)

Generation 2 Elements

Anyone else think we should create separate pages for the Generation 2 versions of Elements like Fire or Jungle? The fact that they're used in G2 pages and link to G1 topics seems like it would be confusing for those unfamiliar with the wiki.--Wiriamu (talk) 05:43, 15 July 2016 (CET)

It'd be tricky... but I'd like to see it get done. I think from an organizational perspective it'd be pretty useful, even if the page is super bare-bones. But I'm also not scrambling to make them myself, y'know? -- Dorek Talk External Image 10:19, 15 July 2016 (CET)

Unless the Gen. 2 elements are somehow inherently different than the Gen. 1 elements, I think it'd be easier to make "Gen. 1" and "Gen. 2" sections on the existing elemental pages. -- Toa Jala Converse 17:36, 16 July 2016 (CET)
Yes, it would be simpler than creating new pages with less informations. -- Surel-Nuva (Talk) 11:07, 19 July 2016 (CET)
