[carve] History
The Zamor Launchers were first created by the Nynrah Ghosts roughly 78,000 years prior to the Great Cataclysm. The Toa of Magnetism Jovan used one of these Zamor Launchers.
The ancient weapons were later redesigned by the Nynrah Ghosts, and as one of their first team missions, the Dark Hunter duo of Nidhiki and Krekka invaded Nynrah, stole the three prototypes while Lariska distracted the Toa visiting the island to make a deal, and destroyed the production machinery to delay the Matoran from replacing them. While Nidhiki and Krekka were strictly instructed to keep the Dark Hunters' involvement in the mission a secret, the Order of Mata Nui learned of the thieves' affiliations regardless; news apparently got to Xia as well, and the Dark Hunters were unwelcome on the island for a while.
One thousand years after the Great Cataclysm, a group of Dark Hunters abandoned the organization and named themselves the Piraka. They traveled to Voya Nui to search for the Ignika, where Avak constructed seven Zamor Launchers from materials salvaged from the Toa Canisters that they had stolen to reach the island.
In a daring move, a group of Matoran stole one of the Piraka's Zamor Launchers. After studying it, the group's inventor, Velika, built a set of launchers of his own and gave them to the Matoran's new allies, the Toa Inika. The Inika's launchers were upgraded from the Piraka's, as they could hold up to four spheres instead of just one. Later, another one of the Matoran, Balta, built another set of launchers, which the Matoran used to free the enslaved Toa Nuva from the effects of the Antidermis virus. When the Toa Inika were transformed into Toa Mahri by the power of the Ignika, they were given new tools and their Zamor Launchers were lost.

[carve] Set Information
The set version of the Zamor launcher is a four-piece construction. It is operated by pushing a piece on the back, which pushes a launcher that extends to the Zamor sphere's resting place. The Zamor forces apart the section of the base holding it in, then emerges as the base recompresses and increases the sphere's velocity. A Zamor Launcher was included in each of the Piraka and Toa Inika canister sets, featuring a fifth piece acting as a cartridge for extra Zamor spheres in the latter series. In 2007 Zamor Launchers were released in the small Matoran and Hydruka sets as Air Launchers, which were identical to the Zamor launchers in function and construction. The Zamor launcher construction of parts was once more featured in 2008, included in Rockoh T3 and Mazeka sets. In these 2008 sets they feature multiple cartridge pieces.
A life-sized Zamor Launcher was also produced by the LEGO Group in 2006 and fired foam balls, six of which were included with it in a lime green and bright green pattern intended to mimic Antidermis Zamor spheres. A pack of five spare orange and red-patterned Zamor Spheres for this launcher was also released. In 2008 these same two sets were rereleased with different colors and packaging as a life-sized Midak Skyblaster and another ammunition pack.
