[carve] History

The Visorak were first conquered by the Makuta Gorast after being gathered by use of the Heart of the Visorak; they make up a large part of the Brotherhood of Makuta's forces. The first historical account of Visorak being used was by Makuta Kojol, who formed a strike team consisting of Visorak, Rahkshi and Exo-Toa on a mission to invade Artakha and steal the Avohkii, the Mask of Light. The Visorak, however, were eliminated by the Crystal Serpents.

The Visorak were also in a large army under the lead of Sidorak, and his Viceroy, the treacherous Roodaka. Part of the Brotherhood's destructive army, they attempted to invade, then efficiently defeat any obstacle before webbing up any living creature and move on. After Teridax was sealed in Protodermis, he summoned them to his aid, and quickly hordes of these creatures appeared on Metru Nui just after the Great Cataclysm. They quickly took over the Coliseum, weaving their webs and capturing Rahi. It has been learned that many of the creatures appearing on Metru Nui were running away from the relentless march of the Visorak through their lands.

Unfortunately for the Toa Metru, they were all captured by the Visorak and were mutated into Toa Hordika. They were going to be killed, but were saved by the Rahaga. With their efforts, the Visorak found their own efforts having less effect, but were strengthened by their new field commander Vakama, who betrayed his Toa brothers. In the final confrontation, Vakama was swayed back to the side of light and Sidorak was brutally killed by Keetongu due to the fact that Roodaka refused to assist Sidorak in killing him so that she could become the queen of the Visorak without having to share power.

The Visorak continued their assault, and the Toa Hordika were about to be killed when Vakama ordered them to disband. The Visorak quickly followed Vakama's orders, as they never favored Roodaka and were ready to betray a traitor.

While the hordes were disbanded, the Brotherhood of Makuta has reformed it. They now serve as guardians of the Brotherhood base on Destral, and a formidable army against the Dark Hunters. Prior to the Piraka rebellion, the Visorak led a semi-successful raid against the Dark Hunters' island base of Odina, resulting in considerable damage and casualties. In addition, there are rumors that the race that Sidorak and Voporak were part of is attempting to also assemble the Visorak, which the Dark Hunter "Gladiator" is currently investigating.

Visorak were also present on Voya Nui, as Thok, a Piraka, encountered one shortly after his arrival on the island. These were scouts from Sidorak's army that became stranded on the island due to the Great Cataclysm. They may not have survived the island's decent to the Southern Continent.

Recently, Toa Nuva Pohatu and Onua went to the Tren Krom Peninsula and recovered the Heart of the Visorak, an artifact that has the ability to summon any and all Visorak no matter how far away they are. It was in the possession of the Order of Mata Nui for some time. Then, a messenger for the Order gave the Heart of the Visorak to the Toa Mahri for them to use on Artidax. Jaller, Nuparu, and Hahli went there, closely followed by the entirety of the Visorak horde.

[carve] The Kingdom

In "The Kingdom" Pocket Dimension, the Visorak migrated to Mata Nui with many of the universe's other beings after the Great Spirit died. Some of them work with the Matoran, while others are performers.

[carve] Ablities and Traits

Visorak have three powers: first, they have Rhotuka spinners with powers varying depending on the breed, though they all have paralyzing powers in them. Second, they can shoot webbing and make cocoons. Third, their pincers can inject Hordika Venom into a target, mutating the victim. They can also line their cocoons with barbs which inject this venom. Visorak also have unique natural abilities corresponding to each breed.

The Visorak feed off energy which can be found in the Rhotuka of the Colony Drones. When Kahgarak are not present, they use Gate Guardians as guards and sentries. For targeted aerial enemies, Venom Flyers help in these cases.

[carve] Hordika Venom

Visorak have a special venom called "Hordika Venom." The venom transforms its victim into a twisted, primal form that's far more aggressive than usual and can be used by the Brotherhood of Makuta as an army. The only known cure for Hordika Venom is the venom-curing power of Keetongu. Hordika Venom can only affect animate creatures, for example, a Rahkshi cannot be affected. In addition, creatures affected by the venom are no longer the same species, so a Kraata Hordika could not evolve into a Rahkshi.

[carve] Visorak Webs

Visorak Webs are green webs produced by the Visorak by either the mouth or abdomen. The Visorak use the webs to get around quickly, and to communicate with other Visorak. The Visorak communicate using the webs by sending vibrations across the strands of webbing. Other Visorak feel these vibrations and are able to decipher their meaning. After the Great Cataclysm, the Visorak covered Metru Nui with the webs as part of their take over. The webs are currently being cleared by the Matoran on Metru Nui.

[carve] Set Information

Six of the Visorak breeds were released as 47-piece canister sets in the winter of 2004/2005 in Europe, and in summer of 2005 for North America. Pressing the Visorak's shell caused its mandibles to squeeze together. Each of the Visorak canister sets contained two silver Rhotuka spinners, storage for which was found in the canister's lid. One of these spinners featured a code in the Matoran Alphabet which, when combined with a three-character prefix from the canister, could be entered for points at the Kanoka Club at BIONICLE.com.

The six canister Visorak sets can be combined in order to create the Zivon model.

Kahgarak were released in 2005 once as a combiner and twice as part of a playset.
