"Independent, powerful, and with a nasty habit of disobeying orders, Vanisher would have been executed long ago if he were not so successful."
— The Shadowed One, Dark Hunters
|Powers||Opening intradimensional gates|
Due to Vanisher's independent and willful nature, the Shadowed One assigned more loyal members of the organization to accompany him and keep him under control, much like he did with the traitorous Nidhiki. These partners all ended up dying mysteriously on their missions with Vanisher. Ordinarily, Vanisher would have been executed for this behavior, but since he is an extremely efficient operative and gets results, the Shadowed One let him live.
During the Dark Hunter-Brotherhood of Makuta War, the Shadowed One came to suspect that Vanisher worked for the Makuta, which is why the Shadowed One sent him to the nearest fortress of the Brotherhood to gather intelligence. On this mission, Vanisher was spied on by another Dark Hunter, and a third was sent to spy on both.
Abilities and Traits
Vanisher is independent, powerful and insubordinate, such that he was accused of being a double agent for the Brotherhood of Makuta. He had a habit of arranging the mysterious deaths of his mission partners.
Vanisher has the power to open intradimensional gates through which he can walk, traveling great distances in the blink of an eye, and appearing to vanish to the observer. He cannot, however, use these gates to travel to other dimensions. He cannot use this power to transport others as well as himself. Vanisher also has the power to open dimensional fluctuations in order to trap energy attacks. He can keep these for as long as he wishes, and then release the energy contained. Many times he has defeated enemies with nothing but their own power.
Vanisher carries a spear, which some believe actually houses his powerful dimensional traveling ability, though Vanisher refuses to reveal the true source of this power.
- Vanisher was created by Johnathan Mastron, also known as BZPower and BIONICLEsector01 member DragonMaster2050, for the LEGO Magazine Dark Hunter Building Contest, and was given a storyline role and place in the book BIONICLE: Dark Hunters, by Greg Farshtey.
- Despite the Shadowed One's suspicions, Vanisher was not working for the Brotherhood prior to its disbanding.
