Prehistory

Hello. My name is Shadonix, and this is the story of my life. 5 years ago, a makuta named Mutran had an idea. What if, he thought, I could make a being with the body and elemental powers of a toa, but with the essence and mind of a makuta? And that's how the whole "toakuta" thing was started. He olnly got two volunteers. Antroz, who just wanted to be known for it, and Icarax, who just wanted another minion. The two makuta (plus Mutran) leaked some of their antidermis into three bodies made of scavenged toa parts. Mutran named his toakuta Arsenic after the poison, Icarax named his Drake, for he slightly resembled a dragon, and Antroz named me Shadonix, because I had mostly black armor. They forged powerless kanohi to sustain our life. Drake got a Krakhaan, Arsenic got a great Hau (lucky), and I got an Avokhii, as a joke, because nobody thought I would ever amount to anything. There are not words to explain how wrong they were.

Summary of What Happened Next

Well, eventually, Arsenic and I no longer wanted to serve the makuta so we escaped. He went one way, I went the other. Our paths (as well as Drake's) crossed several times after that. He had finaly cast out all of his shadow and learned the powers of stone and ice. I met a few other toa and learned how to control fire, air, electricity, and iron. I still had some shadow power, though. After Teridax took control of the universe, I joined a resistance group called the toa elita (see shadonix1's page on brickshelf). They took me in and we fought a few battles. But were thwarted in the end. After that, we disbanded and no one heard from their leader, the great being Lord Ignika, after that. I was trying to get to Daxia to see if the Order of Mata Nui would accept me, but a storm washed me onto an island, and I lost consciousness...

The Toa Cora

"Do you think he's alive?" That was the first thing I heard when I woke up. I stared at two figures, a toa of stone and a toa of ice. I smiled as I remembered my old friend, Arsenic. "Yes!" The toa of stone shouted when he noticed me awake. "Are you okay?" He asked. "I think so..." I mumbled. "Where am I?" "Cora-Nui" The toa of ice said. "I'm M.I., and this is Orka. You are?" "Shadonix." I said "Welcome." Said Orka. "You look like a toa. What element are you?" I sighed. "It's a long story." "Well," he said, "You can tell us about it on the way back to the city. For now, welcome to Cora-Nui. We are members of the Toa Cora, and we have just won a great battle."

The City

After everything was explained, we arrived at the city. Just in time to see it being attacked by a being who could control both the powers of shadow and water. M.I. Shot beams of ice from his frost blade at it and we began to interrogate. We found out that he was another toakuta from a new wave created nearly a year after Arsenic and I left. He was made with Vamprah's essence and was named Cresino. We then learned to our dismay that all of that time he was speeding the water molecules in the ice until eventually it melted and he broke free and began killing matoran left and right. Before he finished off a Fe-Matoran wearing a noble Matatu, I released, or rather, sucked in, my first nova blast. A great cocoon of shadow enveloped the two of us, minimizing him and absorbing him into my body. That's how I gained the power of water. By stealing his soul when he wasn't looking. Or rather, couldn't see me. I almost forgot that He put a sphere of water around Orka's head and knocked M.I. unconscious. I popped the bubble and Orka collapsed. He smiled weakly at me and said "Good job. Welcome to the Toa Cora. Just promise me one thing." "What?" "That you won't steal my soul like that." We laughed, I helped my new brother up, and we walked back to base.

Trivia

• The line about not stealing Orka's soul is a reference to an actual conversation between myself and Orka prior to my admission to the now disbanded Toa Cora.
