The Time Slip is a period of about six months that no one in the entire universe, except members of the Order of Mata Nui, can recall and of which absolutely no records exist. This is because the memory of this time was wiped from everyone's minds. It is believed that Mata Nui caused the Time Slip, as no other being besides him has the ability or means. The reason for the Time Slip was to cover the Av-Matoran, including Takua, being taken from their homeland and relocated across the universe by the Order of Mata Nui.

By the time of the Time Slip, the Av-Matoran had left Karda Nui to return to their original homeland.
