The Drifts, also known as the Wastes, is a snowy region situated on Mount Ihu in Ko-Wahi. Blinding blizzards came often, causing any who ventured here to easily become lost, so Ko-Matoran used red Flags to find their way. During the Great War, Matoro came here to hunt Rahi, and Kopaka to meditate.
History
Takua once got lost here while searching for Matoro, who later found him unconscious in the snow and brought him back to his hunting shelter to nurse the Chronicler back to health. As Takua and Matoro took shelter from the cold with a Heatstone, something set off Matoro's Rahi Trap. When the Ko-Matoran went to investigate, he encountered a Muaka and was attacked. Luckily, Kopaka appeared and subdued the beast using his Kanohi Huna and Mahiki to evade and confuse it. Cornering the Muaka on one of the Drifts' cliff edges, Kopaka severed the part of the cliff on which the Muaka was standing, sending it tumbling below.
In her quest to learn Willpower, Hahli later came here while searching for Kantai the Hermit, and found both the Temple of Peace located here and the Willpower Charm.
It was cleared by the reawakened Bohrok swarms, and was wiped from existence by Mata Nui's reawakening.
