Sand Screamers are mysterious Rahi found on Voya Nui and the Southern Continent. The Sand Screamer is known to often make agonized shrieks and leave tracks, although these tracks vanish within seconds. No Matoran has ever seen a Sand Screamer, but evidence shows that they are capable of bringing down larger beasts.

When Voya Nui returned to the Southern Continent, it is likely that many of the Sand Screamers living there, in the Desert of Sorrows, perished.
