Ranama are amphibious Rahi which lived amidst the heat of the Ta-Wahi lava flows.

History
The Ranama species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.
In Ta-Metru, the Ranama were hated by the Ta-Matoran due to their aggressive natures and the fact that Ranama-infested molten Protodermis vats had to be carefully filtered in order to remove the vermin.
Abilities and Traits
Ranama swim in molten Protodermis as if it was water. As a result, they frequently hiss and steam. Ranama feed chiefly on Nui-Rama, which they catch with long, sticky tongues from their hiding places beneath the surface of lava streams. However, they are accustomed to eat anything they catch, making their vicinity hazardous for unwary Matoran.
