History
The Mata Nui Fishing Bird species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.
The birds could be found among the lower branches of the Le-Wahi jungle on Mata Nui and along the coasts of Le-Metru on Metru Nui. Taking advantage of their swift flight, these Rahi seemed to take pleasure in swooping low around Rahi predators before soaring away, merrily chittering at having deprived the slower Rahi of what seemed at first to be an easy meal.
The birds have since returned to Metru Nui after the Bohrok swarms were awakened again to cleanse Mata Nui.
Abilities and Traits
The diet of Mata Nui Fishing Birds consisted primarily of fish, which they found using their keen eyesight and caught by diving into the sea. Flocks gathered in the water, where the birds could often be found happily splashing and chattering.
