The Makuta Fortress is one of the many fortresses belonging to the Brotherhood of Makuta. It has been captured several times since it's creation, and has currently been siezed by Pridak's forces.

It was later captured by the Dark Hunters. During the Dark Hunter/Brotherhood of Makuta War, Zaktan traded information with Roodaka in return for details of the fortress. The Dark Hunter then searched the fortress again, discovering a chamber in which Teridax's Plan was inscribed onto the walls. After reading and understanding the plan, Zaktan destroyed the inscriptions. The fortress was attacked by the Brotherhood soon after. The Hunters attempted to defend it, but Zaktan, Thok, and Reidak soon realized it was a futile effort, and abandoned the fortress. It was soon re-captured by the Brotherhood.

Over 1,000 years later, freed from his watery prison of The Pit, Pridak attacked the fortress, which had been covered with a new one on top. During the attack, Pridak stumbled across the destroyed chamber, and began to reassemble the broken pieces.

The Plan room is a concealed room within the fortress. Makuta Teridax used the room to record all the details of his plan. Before it was taken by the Dark Hunters, Teridax shuffled the writing and symbols on the wall, scrambling the message so it would appear as meaningless gibberish if anyone were to stumble upon the room.

Some time later, Zaktan encountered the room after learning of the fortress' true nature from Roodaka. Though he was at first unable to read it, Zaktan accidentally triggered a switch in the form of a symbol that rearranged the writing back to normal. After studying it and committing it to memory, Zaktan destroyed the wall.

Much later, Pridak discovered the room during his search of the fortress. He realized that the rubble of the wall had symbols on it, and began to reassemble it.
