Judgement Cannon is Semi-Canon Judgement Cannon is considered to be Semi-Canon in the BIONICLE storyline because certain parts of it may be considered to be canon in the BIONICLE storyline whilst the other parts are not.

The Judgement Cannon is a mysterious weapon designed and created by Artakha.

History

The Judgement Cannon was commissioned while the Hand of Artakha was still in power. Due to its nature, the project was kept a strict secret, to the degree that few have even heard of it today. Those that do know guard the knowledge closely. The secret nature of the project was meant to keep the technology from falling into the wrong hands, for fear that it could be redesigned to keep a conflict running, or grant victory to the wrong side. The Order of Mata Nui was rumored to possess at least one of these devices; it is unknown if any are still in operational condition.

Functionality

The Judgement Cannon has the ability to affect the will of beings, either destroying an enemy's will to continue fighting, or reinforcing an ally's resolve. When used on an enemy, the being becomes disillusioned with violence, making them wish for peace and cease to fight. The energy for the weapon is produced by a specifically bred race of Protodites which live inside the cannon. The Protodites produce a certain type of mental energy which the cannon amplifies and focuses into a constant stream. The power of the weapon can be augmented by the mental strength or skill of the user; conversely, the weapon's effectiveness is determined by the mental strength of the target. Furthermore, the cannon's power can be hampered if the target has been trained to mentally shield their mind.

Trivia

• The Judgement Cannon was created by BZPower member BCii as an entry for the BIONICLE Storyline & Theories Contest #4. It tied with the Twilight Blade for third place in the MoC category and was accepted into official canon. Book author Greg Farshtey has said that the history is not canon, only the functionality of it is; the bio has been retained for holistic purposes.
