The Ice Shield was a Toa Tool carried by Toa Kopaka. Although used defensively, the tool could also be used to channel the Toa of Ice's Elemental Powers, though he preferred to use his sword.
While a Toa Mata, Kopaka carried a shield with an arrangement of holes in it, creating a web pattern. Toa Kaita Wairuha also wielded this shield in his left hand.
When Kopaka was transformed into a Toa Nuva by Energized Protodermis, his Ice Shield was changed too, becoming larger and of a solid design.
Kopaka was able to ride his shield in both his Mata and Nuva forms, so that he could use his Ice Sword or Ice Blades while traveling at high speeds.
After receiving his Adaptive Armor, Kopaka abandoned his Ice Shield.
Example Usage
In Tale of the Toa, Kopaka used his ice shield to block a rockslide that was accidentally triggered by Pohatu.
In Mask of Light, Takua and Jaller used Kopaka's ice shield to try to escape the Rahkshi during their quest to find the seventh Toa.
Set Information
Two Ice Shields were released; one in the 2001 Toa Kopaka set, and another version in the 2002 Kopaka Nuva set.
