The Great Disruption was a four hundred year period in the Matoran Universe, in which the Great Spirit Mata Nui fell ill.
History
When the Matoran in Metru Nui commenced the Matoran Civil War, the essential work in the city came to a halt, weakening the Great Spirit Mata Nui as a result. The side effects of his illness began to be seen all over the Matoran Universe, causing Toa Jovan to lead his Toa team to acquire the Kanohi Ignika, in order to restore Mata Nui back to full health. They travelled to Voya Nui, and managed to retrieve the Ignika and enter Karda Nui. A member of Jovan's team sacrificed himself utilizing the Ignika, and the team used the Olmak of a member to teleport out of Karda Nui as the Energy Storms started once more. After Jovan's team had returned the Ignika back to its chamber, the Brotherhood of Makuta put a stop to the Matoran Civil War, and the Great Disruption ended.
