The Great Disks, or Kanoka Nui, were the most powerful Kanoka disks, the only ones to have a power level of 9 (aside from the Disk of Time, which was created by combining them altogether). These six disks were created by Artakha, one for each Metru on Metru Nui; and were secretly teleported into the city at some time within 2,500 years before the Great Cataclysm. They were discovered by six Matoran, who later led the Toa Metru to them. Once they had collected all six, the Toa Metru used them to defeat the Morbuzakh that plagued the city by destroying the King root in the Great Furnace.
The Toa Metru had hoped to then give the disks to Turaga Dume to prove their worth, but were rejected because Dume was actually Makuta Teridax in disguise. Later, Vakama combined the Disks to create the Disk of Time, which he then used to forge the Vahi Mask of Time.

In the Toa Empire Pocket Dimension, Artakha made the Great Disks, but kept them to experiment with, and eventually made the Vahi from them himself.

- Onu-Metru - Inside a supply closet in the Archives.
- Le-Metru - Inside a Force Sphere in a Chute.
- Po-Metru - In the Sculpture Fields, atop the "mountain in balance," a pyramid turned upside-down, in perfect balance.
- Ga-Metru - Between teeth of the Dweller in the Deep under the Great Temple.
