Gadunka are one-inch-long Rahi that inhabit the sea, such as around The Pit, Mata Nui, and Metru Nui.

[carve] Enlarged Gadunka
When Nocturn placed the Kanohi Ignika on the ground, a Gadunka scurried under the mask for shelter, unknowingly exposing himself to the Kanohi's energy. After Nocturn left with the Mask of Life, the Gadunka began to grow, until he reached a gigantic size.
Gadunka later attempted to attack the Barraki, whom he had seen the Kanohi Ignika with. However, before it could do so, he was attacked by Toa Mahri Hewkii. Due to Hewkii's sense of fair play, the Toa Mahri attempted to defeat the Gadunka through fighting him, despite almost having been eaten by the Rahi as a result before Hahli and Nuparu came to his rescue. Hahli then summoned an underwater tidal wave, which washed the Rahi away.
Later, Gadunka reappeared, now befriended with the 300 Foot Mutant Venom Eel and the Ancient Sea Behemoth. The latter two were defeated by the Toa. Meanwhile, Nuparu attempted to defeat Gadunka by opening a hole in the sea floor, causing the Rahi to drop into it. Gadunka, on the other hand, reappeared and took the Mask of Life from Matoro, who was knocked unconscious during the battle. Responding to the attempt with fear and anger, the Ignika granted the creature with the ability to restore anything to his original state. As a result, Gadunka was shrunk back down to his former size.

Despite their stature, Gadunka's jaws and claws are extremely powerful.
In addition to immense strength, the enlarged Gadunka possessed powerful jaws lined with sharp teeth and claws.

[carve] Set Information
Gadunka was released as a large boxed set in the summer of 2007. The set featured his enlarged form and consisted of 176 pieces, including a faceplate made of glow-in-the-dark plastic blended with transparent blue plastic. His teeth, made from the same piece used previously for Ehlek's spines but in silver, were made of soft, rubbery plastic. His jaw could open or close and his tongue could move. Two Sea Squids included in the set could be stored on a pair of clips on his back, and he wielded a Squid Launcher in his left claw.
