The Field of Shadows, also known as the Zone of Darkness, is a pocket dimension completely void of light. It is connected solely to the Matoran Universe.
History
During their construction of the Matoran Universe, the Great Beings created the Field of Shadows and attached the dimension to the Matoran Universe.
Only twice has anyone been known to have been sent to the Field of Shadows. One such case was when Toa Hordika Whenua, Rahaga Bomonga, and a Kahgarak were sent there and escaped at the exit of the Zivon. The second occurred shortly afterwards, when Krahka, a Tahtorak, and the Zivon were sucked into the Field of Shadows when a Kahgarak attempted to force the Tahtorak into it. One thousand years later, Brutaka attempted to send Axonn to the Field by using his Kanohi Olmak, but Axonn evaded the portal; the portal was left open after the battle ended, and Krahka and the Tahtorak used it to escape onto Voya Nui.
Landscape
The pocket dimension is entirely void of light and is the location of residence for the Zivon. The dimension can be accessed via a Kahgarak's Rhotuka or through the use of a Kanohi Olmak.
