The Energized Protodermis Entity is a creature formed entirely of Energized Protodermis. It was first discovered by the Toa Metru as they journeyed through one of Teridax's lairs.

During their journey back to Metru Nui after the Great Cataclysm, the Toa Metru were blackmailed into retrieving a vial of Energized Protodermis for the Karzahni. They were told that there was a pool of Energized Protodermis in one of Teridax's lairs, but when the Toa eventually arrived there they encountered a mysterious, shape-shifting being made of Energized Protodermis itself.
This Entity was an arrogant being, believing itself to be "as far beyond you as you are from the lowliest Rahi" and describing itself as "a force of the universe". Instead of allowing the Toa to take some of the Energized Protodermis they came for, it demonstrated its power by mutating a tiny insect into a 200-foot monster. It then watched as the Toa defended themselves against the beast, and when it tired of the fight it coldly destroyed the insect. This led the Toa to attack the Entity, and in response it began mutating a number of harmless creatures into fierce monsters.
After the Toa defeated the creatures, they began taunting and angering the Entity, eventually luring it into destroying the support pillars holding up the chamber. The Toa then attacked from all sides. The Entity was at a loss as to where to direct his attacks, since attacking one Toa would leave the pool open to damage from the others. With only one pillar remaining, the Toa halted and offered to leave the lair standing if they were allowed to take the Protodermis they came for and leave safely. They also pointed out that Makuta Teridax might have made a Protodermis-eating creature that could be let loose if the lair caved in. The entity reluctantly agreed to let them take what they needed - but almost immediately tried to attack them with a tidal wave of Energized Protodermis. The Toa quickly shattered the last pillar and collapsed the chamber, destroying the pool and escaping. However, the Entity was not destroyed, for it can appear wherever Energized Protodermis is found. The Entity was last sighted in the tunnels beneath Metru Nui.
[carve] Abilities and Traits
The Entity has the ability to form itself into any shape it chooses. While it was described in the book as having "the resemblance of the Toa Metru," in BIONICLE: Maze of Shadows, the being appeared to have the upper-half of Teridax's "Shadow Titan" form, with a pillar of Energized Protodermis from the waist down. The "Toa Metru form" described in the book is the one recognized as canonical, though. The Entity can launch jets of Energized Protodermis and can form itself into a tidal wave. It seems that it also has the limited ability to sense whether or not a being is destined to be transformed by Energized Protodermis, but not exactly how it will transform.
The Entity's relationship with Makuta Teridax is unclear. It considers itself a guardian of the pool and denied that Teridax was its master, but never confirmed nor denied that the two worked together. It can be assumed that the entity at least allowed Teridax use of the pool, but whether it helped Teridax beyond that is unknown.
