[carve] Biography
Defilak was once a trader hailing from an unknown island. During one of his journeys, he went to Metru Nui and picked up the Chutespeak slang of the local Le-Matoran. Eventually, he was sent to Karzahni to be "fixed", and was then sent to the Southern Continent. He was on Voya Nui when it broke off of the continent, and was later on the rock that broke off of Voya Nui and would become Mahri Nui.
It was his turn to lead the Mahri Nui Matoran when the Mask of Life appeared. He invented and built a submarine modeled after a Takea shark for a Po-Matoran. He took a crew of four, Sarda, Idris, Gar, and himself, to find out just what was preying on the Matoran. They were attacked by a swarm of Takea sharks after the safe hour ended, and spotted Pridak. Pridak captured them and threw Sarda to the sharks. Defilak escaped, and after learning about the Barraki, Defilak and Pridak discovered the giant Venom Eel. Defilak rescued Gar and Idris, and saved Mahri Nui from falling victim to a giant Venom Eel by smashing all its Lightstones. In doing so, they managed to make the eel look for other prey.
When the Toa Mahri arrived, Defilak initially distrusted them at first, ordering a massive attack on first Matoro and then his teammates, but eventually warmed up to them. Defilak gave them the name "Toa Mahri", telling them that if they were going to help the Mahri Nui Matoran, "We would be honored to call you Toa Mahri."
When the Toa Mahri were forced to destroy The Cord and crush Mahri Nui, they took the Mahri Nui Matoran to the caves under Voya Nui for safe travel in their return trip to the Southern Continent.

In "The Kingdom" Pocket Dimension, Defilak was transformed into a Toa of Air by Takanuva.
[carve] Abilities and Traits
Defilak is a skilled inventor, loyal, brave, and proud. He is a good leader, but has been known to lose his temper. Whilst working as a Trader, he visited Le-Metru and picked up the local dialect, Chutespeak. He has been distrusting of non-Matoran since Mahri Nui's sinking, but always does what is best for his city.

Defilak is armed with two Electro-Blades, capable of firing a stunning shock, though they have become tempermental since being exposed to the Pit Mutagen. He also wields an Air Launcher, used to fire spheres of air at water creatures, filling their lungs with air, toxic to sea creatures.

Defilak was released as one of the the winter 2007 small sets, the others being Dekar and the two Hydruka Morak and Thulox. The Defilak set consists of 37 pieces including two Solidified Air Bubbles for the Air Launcher mounted on his left shoulder. He wields two Electro-Blades, with one in each hand.

- The submarine he built was originally to be used for the Po-Matoran Council Leader a year past to "look at rocks." He lost interest in deep sea diving after seeing Defilak's sub and never used it.
- Defilak is from Lesovikk, Sarda, and Idris' homeland.
