Collectibles
There have been many Collectibles released in BIONICLE so far. Below is a brief history of these items.
2001
A list of collectible Kanohi featured on the Bohrok Swarms Promo CD.
- Kanohi - Masks of Power, that could be fitted on various Toa, Turaga, Matoran and Rahi. There were 72 of these released.
2002
- Krana - The "brain" of the Bohrok, these were made out of rubber instead of plastic like the Kanohi. 96 of these were available.
- Kanohi Nuva - Similar to the original Kanohi, the Kanohi Nuva had more power story-wise, and different shapes set-wise. They were released near the end of 2002, with 36 masks to collect.
2003
- Kraata - Unlike the previous collectibles, which were released in bags, these worm-like creatures were released in short cans. In order to collect them all, one would have to get 259 different versions of them - as of 2008, this is still the highest number of collectible types.
- Krana-Kal - Recolored versions of the Krana, 48 of these were produced. 5000 limited edition white metal Krana-Kal were packaged randomly, as well as 72 limited edition sterling silver Krana-Kal.
2004
- Kanoka - Unlike the previous collectibles, these had more play value, as one could shoot these disks with special launchers found in the sets. Each disk had three digits, which could be entered on BIONICLE.com to achieve "Kanoka Points" - points that would allow the person to download web content.
2005
- Rhotuka - Similar to the 2004 Kanoka, these too were disks that could be launched. However, with the Rhotuka it was done by placing the spinner onto a device found on the sets, and inserting a cord. Then, the cord would be removed quickly, thus allowing the spinner to fly. Similar to the Kanoka, there was a six character code written in Matoran that could be typed in the official website.
2006
- Zamor - These spheres were thrown out of their socket by a "switch" of sorts found on the back of the launcher. Later in 2006, with the release of the Toa Inika sets, a piece was included, acting as a clip, so that a person would be able to fire four Zamor spheres in a row without the need of reloading.
2007
- Sea Squid - Going back to the roots with the return of rubbery collectibles, these were launched from a Squid Launcher by pulling the tail of the squids and letting go.
