The Charred Forest was a forest of burnt trees in Ta-Wahi, destroyed during a battle between the Matoran and Makuta Teridax's Rahi. After emerging from his Toa Canister, Tahu walked through here, where he was caught in a Rahi trap set by Jaller and his guard. Takua trailed Tahu and discovered Ta-Koro.

The Charred Forest was also the place where Kapura would exercise his skill of traveling long distances very quickly by moving very slow.

Lavaboards, used by the Ta-Matoran to lava surf and play the sport of Ignalu, are made from tree trunks from the Charred Forest, since they do not burn in the molten magma. It has now been cleared by the newly reawakened Bohrok swarms.
