The Chamber of Life was a room under the Lake of Lava of Mount Valmai where the Kanohi Ignika was hidden. The Chamber could only be entered through the 777 Stairs or Mount Valmai.

History

The Chamber of Life has only been breached three times in its existence. First, during the Great Disruption, Jovan and his team retrieved the Ignika and used it to heal Mata Nui. Second, Vezon, who was seeking the Ignika, was permitted to enter only to become one of its many guardians. Third, the Toa Inika and the Piraka fought Vezon and Fenrakk for the mask.

During this third intrusion, the Piraka arrived first and briefly spoke with Vezon. He used the Spear of Fusion to fuse Reidak and Vezok into a massive beast which defeated the other Piraka, and subsequently separated the fusion into the two Piraka, who were left unconscious. The Toa Inika then entered and fought Vezon and Fenrakk. After the fight, during which Fenrakk was transformed into the Kardas Dragon, the Toa Inika ultimately triumphed and gained possession of the Ignika.

The Piraka, who had recovered, threatened the Toa Inika for the mask. However, the Kardas Dragon soon recovered and blasted the mask out of the Toa's hands, and the mask flew up the 777 Stairs. The Toa Inika left in pursuit of the Ignika, while the Piraka remained and debated over Vezon's fate. Overruling Vezok's desires, the Piraka pursued the Toa and left Vezon and the Kardas Dragon in the chamber. Vezon and the Kardas Dragon eventually recovered and went their separate ways.

The Chamber of Life was destroyed when the Great Spirit Robot fell during the Battle of Bara Magna.
