Catapult Scorpions are scorpion-like creatures with stingers that can materialize balls of molten magma, which quickly harden into rock. They launch these stones by snapping their stingers forward. They also have razor-like pincers, sharp teeth, and a head covered in spines and horns.

Catapult Scorpions reside in caverns under the Sculpture Fields. They are sometimes mistaken for large Nui-Jaga, but are far more savage and dangerous. Being such fearsome Rahi, Phase Dragons, Rock Raptors, Tunnelers, and Po-Matoran live in fear of them. The Catapult Scorpions eat solid Protodermis, so their preferred hunting method is to follow Kikanalo herds and eat whatever their horns dig up.

The Catapult Scorpion was an entry sent in to LEGO as part of the LEGO Magazine Rahi-Building Contest. It was given a name and story role by Greg Farshtey in the book BIONICLE: Rahi Beasts, and was created by Cody Fullmer.
